MUTO is just this movie's version of saying kaiju.Living Corpse wrote:Originally, yes, but as the Admiral said about the male "it is no longer Terrestrial, it is now airborne." After a while the acronym just stuck and the first letters became their names while the other words making up the fill meaning is dropped. It's weird but I've noticed in fiction words lose their original name once they become a name, like Unknown the Pokemon and Unknown the fighter from Tekken. Even in Gundam Wing one of the pilots had no name and, oddly, his nick name just became "No Name" till he stole someone else identity.beardRage wrote:M.U.T.O. is an acronym, not a species. Technically Godzilla is a M.U.T.O.
It would be interesting if they ever do give them a name in the next movie instead of just using Muto as a one word name.
Plus it would sound stupid calling Buy-Battra a MUAO.
Actual MUAO sounds kind of cool....MUAO.
