Check your IMAX theaters, some places already have them for ordering.
Sadly, I must make you aware that anything I say is my opinion.

Contrary to popular belief, I did like Godzilla 2014

Of course , I think it did. What if someone wanted to know so they would be able to save up and purchase a ticket for a certain given time they so wished to see the film. Rather then them not know and missing out on buying a certain ticket for a given time and it being sold out already. Any bit of info helps! :P

I already bought my ticket for the IMAX showing May 15th, 7pm. Be there or be square.

The only movie my nearest theater is playing on May 16th is 'Mom's Night Out' :/

They usually don't post showtimes until the week of, so I have a while to wait before I can be sure what day I'm going. I'm likely to just buy tickets up front.

Same here, but what I think is next week they might have the show times for it since the tickets go on sale. If I were you I wouldn't wait last minute, I would buy them ahead of time just in case they get sold out.

Never had a theater sell out on me before. I should be fine.

But... what normal non-fan person goes to see Godzilla on opening night.
I'm going like 2 hours before the movie starts anyway. I don't think my theater sells all of their tickets in advance.

Seriously, I was afraid they would sell out of 'Evil Dead' and 'Pacific Rim' on opening day.... I was the first one in there. I'm not worried.

Yeah, I'm probably just going to go to the theater that day and buy my tickets several hours before the movie opens. It's what I usually do for the most part for midnight showings. It's not entirely necessary to buy them WAYYY in advance.

Dude. It's TK. Everything needs its own thread. (I'm still waiting for that one about Godzilla's farts)

I've never had a movie sell out on me before, and I've never bought tickets in advance. I'll just buy them at the window as I'm going in.

It really depends on your location. If you live in a heavily populated city, then ordering in advance might be needed.
I live in the middle of no where, the theater is one of a few around and it's not really in a heavily populated place, so I doubt a ton of people will show up opening night. At least, not enough to sell out.

Looking like my IMAX isn't going to have it. They don't show it as one of their "Coming Soon" movies, but the other theaters here do.

No matter, I will still see the first showing wherever it is.

Looks like my local theaters don't have it yet. Oh well, I can wait a week.

In the meantime, hellooooo tickets for Godzilla (1954) in NYC this week!

Hell I prepaid tickets for the 10 pm screening of Pacific Rim and I was one of only maybe 5 or 6 people there. I'll wait though. When I bought PR tickets 10pm was the first showing, then about a week before release they added a 7pm showing. I'll never bother pre paying tickets this early again.
