One of my local theaters also has advance tix.
They're also using a place-holder running time of 2hrs, and spacing the show-times out by 3hrs.
Perhaps you think you're being treated unfairly?

bought mine. $86 for 4 imax tickets (didn't pay the $8 total surcharge). reserved seating so none of the BS like waiting in line 2 hours before hand like I did with the Dark Knight imax.

True IMAX screens are about 76 feet tall. XD screens are about half that size.

Make sure you see it on a real IMAX screen. There are many theaters which label their screens as IMAX, but are actually not the real thing. "LIEMAX" is unfortunately common in the US. AMC theaters has been known to host LIEMAX screens. You can tell because the screen size is significantly smaller than true IMAX. Call your theater to find out how large it is.

If you're lucky, a handful of XD screens feature Dolby Atmos sound systems which is the latest in sound technology and Godzilla has been optimized to take advantage of it.

There's only one IMAX in my country so I guess I don't have a choice... At least I live close to it, but I'm 100% certain its a legit IMAX.

The only legit IMAX screen in my state is Discovery Place. Not exactly ideal.
I can't believe that Godzilla was the only surviving member of its species, but if we continue conducting nuclear tests, it's possible that another Godzilla might appear somewhere in the world again.

With this talk about early screenings selling out I buckled down and just bought a ticket, 7:00 pm on Thursday the 15th. Besides I seriously doubt they'll add an earlier screening than that.

They most likely will not. 7 p.m. the night before the movie actually comes out its the earliest showing any theater does. Unless there's like a special or VIP screening of it, other then that there shouldn't be any earlier showings then 7.

I have three theater options out here: a tiny run down one, a shabby drive-in and one several miles away in a different town marked by being in a mall and bright red letters. I genuinely wonder which one I should go to.

The third one. I don't know why this is a hard decision.

I'd also go to the drive-in just to induce nostalgia of seeing old Showa films at the local drive-in.

In fact, I think I'm gonna see this at the drive-in now.

The theater I go to still hasn't posted showings. Tickets still can't sell out so I don't care.

What aspect if this movie in, anybody know?

It is mainly because of gas issues and the additional ticket price. I do hear the drive-in has received augmentations.

Nice bro! I got mine today for IMAX 3-D (on a REAL IMAX theater this time) for Saturday May 17th at 1:15 PM. I'm planning on getting tickets for Opening Night at 7:00 PM. I'm gonna see it first regular then save that luscious IMAX 3-D for last.
