I want a design that looks as nasty and evil as that one^

...But I want Godzilla to be entirely sympathetic. Destructive, but absolutely not evil or malicious. Let those simpletons in the audience choke on that contradiction.

The old looks can be deceiving thing. I like it.

Godzilla looks like the most evil thing to ever walk the earth and does cause a lot of death and destruction so the audience just says "he's totally evil" but when an even worse monster shows up he ironically ends up saving lives by killing it and the audience is left thinking "WTF?!"

I would LOVE for something along those lines of that for the main plot.

first half, make the audience believe Godzilla is the big baddy, then 2nd half, have the REAL threat to the entire world appear and have Godzilla rise up and just kick all sorts of ass for the earth.

And having Godzilla look really skreeonk scary (like that model by honeybonez) would just top that off perfectly.
Don't try to be something else. Don't try to be less. Great things are going to happen in your life. Great things. And with that will come great responsibility.

^ I like that idea too.

Hope something like that happens in the movie.

How will he look: I would say they should go with the Heisei design (charcoal grey skin, feral look on his face, classic dorsal spines, incredibly long tail, & flaming red/orange eyes WOW),with a bit of an update, but still recognizable.

How will he act: I say Godzilla should go back to his original roots, being a destructive force that cannot be stopped, representing the horrors of nuclear destruction.

Should he be good or bad: Hmmmm, I think he should stay as an anti hero, or be more of an animal like in the Heisei series.

Personally I felt the Comic Con Godzilla design was perfect

but

If you wana go for something different I say...

Take the American Godzilla '94 (Stan Winston) design and mix it with Godzilla 2000 design and there I think you could have a winner right there too

This. Or, go back to the very original, 1954, look, to get things started on the right foot, all over again(love his alligator-like scales). Maybe they should do Godzilla 2000 again since I like his face, and skin too, and I always thought that design should get a thirrd movie, since it got two, already. Or the 1955 design again, love his feral look! The only other one I could think of is the Godzilla's Revenge design, could work again, too. Oh, and the 1985 look could work, again. Totally agree on him being an anti-hero and representation of nuclear destruction, for sure, though.

I agree with you gatorzilla, and you two DinoZillaGod, aside from the Heisei version of Godzilla the original 1954 design would do well, or the rejected Stan Winston design. Though it is a shame Stan Winston is gone now, he knew what he was creating for us fans.

I know, whenever I look at the concept he created I get melancholy at what could have been.

Same here I was shocked when I heard that he died, I mean, he pretty much did the effects of just about all of my favorite non-Toho films: Aliens, Predator, The Thing (along with Rob Bottin), Terminator 2, all Jurassic Park films, Monster Squad, & he even directed Pumpkinhead which I also enjoyed watching.

Godzilla's Teeth

Postby DOG » Tue Feb 14, 2012 11:57 pm

In all but the Heisei series Godzila had one row of teeth. I liked the addition of multiple rows of teeth in the Heisei series myself. Which do you think he should have in the upcoming Legendary Picture's Godzilla movie? Vote and sound off below!

LOL... if Legendary Pictures could only get there ass on this board an see the topic's forming about this film...

But sure i'll play, More then 1 row on each jaw... I think it would look great an even creepier in CGI if done right, Looked great in the 90's series.

Agreed, imagine him turning in the dark, right at us, his gleaming amber eyes are glowing, the camera at his swerving tail angled towards his awesome face, him uttering a sharp roaring snarl, as strings of saliva flits about and drips down his rows and rows of teeth!

Fine, I'll play along.

More then one row. But only if it looks good on the design they choose. Part of the reason it looks so good on Heisei Godzilla is that it just sort of clicks with that design, ya know? If it doesn't fit the design then no, don't do it.

LOL... if Legendary Pictures could only get there ass on this board an see the topic's forming about this film...

They'd probably get a good laugh at some of the ridiculous conclusions some of the kids come up with and all the arguing some of the older members get into.

Yes, it does have to click like that. I agree that design clicked with the teeth, and in my opinion, it was due in no small part to his feral look. For instance more than one row would not fit Godzilla in Terror of Mechagodzilla, Son of Godzilla, or Godzilla Vs. Ebirah for that matter (to name but a few). But I'd love to see a design that clicked with multiple rows again.

I thought that -at least earlier on- Heisei Godzilla pulled off two rows well.

How about a topic about Godzilla's intestinal problems?

It wasn't a Nuclear Pulse that hurt King Ghidorah. It was really bad gas.
