For the last time guys that's just a placeholder design I.E. not the final design there gonna go with. -_-

I wouldn't even give it that much credit. They just commisioned a design for a T-shirt. I don't think they even gave the artist a list of aesthetic features they wanted him to give the Godzilla for the shirt.

I think you guys are mostly right, but where-as you don't believe it is a "true" design, I think it is kinda like a rough draft, a really early rough draft. They probably will keep this design in the sense leaving it Godzilla, but heavily modify the mouth, dorsal fins, and overall basic look.

Eh. It's all we've got to go on, other than the rumors that it's semi-Burning Godzilla. Never mind

I don't like the idea of altering his design to make him seem more aquatic. He doesn't need such drastic changes.

I do like that they are exploring some designs. Emmerich's Godzilla design wasn't hated because they had a new design. It was hated because they went extreme and paid no attention (respect, even?) to Godzilla's historical core design, primary weapon, or personality. Legendary could do well to go with a something more progressive than simply a 21st century Heisei Godzilla or whatever and still pay tribute to Godzilla. To be honest, in a lot of those artworks I see elements I like, ranging from the coursing red streaks of fission in a couple of the designs to some of the head designs, spikes, etc. I want something that conveys menace and is updated in its aesthetics, and there are many ways they could go about it.

As I and others say, I'd rather Legendary take an extra year or two (or five) and produce an excellent picture than rush one out for us impatient fans and have its design or script a mess.

It doesn't resemble G2K's head at all to me. It's more like some of the poster depictions of Heisei G (such as those from G vs. KG, G vs. MG). The t-shirt Godzilla appears to have Heisei G's two rows of teeth and more rectangular head, but I wouldn't describe it as looking like Heisei Godzilla or G2K. It's a sort of comic book-like design which is doesn't come very close to being specific to any previously seen film incarnation.

Yeah, looking at the design you're right. Must have been remembering wrong.

Godzilla should appear deformed when on land and stand hunched from the chest up. The dorsal fins should be traditional with slight altercations such as have it curve akwardly down his back to give him a look of agony. Godzilla should also have the ability to walk on all fours when needed in battle. I know alot of you may not like the idea but it would definitely give Godzilla more mobility when fighting on land. I dont think Godzilla should walk around like a human but more animalistic instead. The only human touch I really want for this Godzilla is his intellegence. Let him do things like make facial expressions when blasted by missiles or when confronted by more threatening enemies. We should be able to read what Godzilla is thinking through his facial expressions.

The skin should be a dark greyish blue with a luminous glow in the night scenes or when underwater and they should include that grey patch on the chest which most bandai figures had in the 90s and prior. underwater Godzilla should be total bad azz and move alot smoother and quicker than when hes on land. Its like a hometown advantage. Thats all I got for now.

Simple Godzilla design

- Stands up-right, Yes i think he should.. I hate the fact of thinking of Godzilla like GINO all hunched over like a Raptor of T-Rex.
- Deep roar, much like Godzilla 1985 or Godzilla 1954, not all high pitched screeching like in GINO.
- Grey or blackish tent skin, to imply a burnt, rusted, an tortured animal...
- Thick Legs, an chest.. Godzilla does not need to be skinny or thin, it's a very bulky animal an has no need to run.. since it shouldn't be running from anything.
- 4 claws an 4 toes, it should not represent a T-Rex foot.. Should look like Stan W. design for the rejected 94 script.
- spines, pretty much like the early 90's series.. didn't care for the 2000 series where he had 1 giant one in the middle.
- Godzilla should stand 350 to 450 ft tall...

This is my opinion on how i think Godzilla should look.

My ideal Godzilla is tall from 197 to 328 feet.

I think a Biogoji/Shodaigoji hybrid would look pretty damn cool.

I'm going to just jump on the semi-Burning Godzilla look in terms of the orange-ish fission effect similar to Burning Godzilla. Some very menacing features like that could give Godzilla a legitimate "awe" effect to the audience when we see him. Without going overboard, I just want him to look incredible.

I personally hate the idea of him fissuring for the length of the whole movie. a sequel would be better for that if they wanted to go the burning route.

Maybe if he does a nuclear pulse then his skin could fissure for a bit after... but meh.

Yeah I can understand and respect that. I thought about the same thing myself, as in if we did get a Burning Godzilla sort of thing again, it wouldn't be as notable. But if it was dramatically more blotchy and all like in the actual Burning Godzilla, I think it would still work. That one LPG Godzilla rumor picture that's probably floating in this very thread is sort of how I'd like the fissures to look.

Anyhow, yes I see why you'd prefer them not to do so.

It's better than GINO, but it still looks like a dinosaur...especially the facial complexion.
