I like certain design features of GMK Godzilla & Always2 Godzilla. I hope LP doesn't go too crazy with the spikes, like we see with the G2000 design.

How do you mean? You want the creators who are doing work for an American picture to NOT use their own resources and NOT make a suit in their own home country?

I still don't really think that a suit is the way to go. While the addition of some practical effects would be nice, I think most fans are just holding onto the idea of suitmation because they are afraid of getting burned again.

You see, I think mocap would serve as happy medium for a movie like this. I don't get where people think they'll be using an actual suit. The likelihood of that happening is infinitesimal.

Motion capture works to a degree, but this will be one of the few times it has been use don a largely nonhuman creation. I cant see Andy Serkis-esque styles being used for Goji.

My two cents on the look and effects of Godzilla:

-Looks like what the GFW suit should have looked like: just a tad bit slimmer, more defined muscle structure, blackish scales, razor sharp texture, razor sharp blue/silver spines but not overly disproportionate like the G2K suit, expressions with an attitude a la GMK, and slightly smaller feet to allow faster running with more detail than alot of the more recent suits.

-primarily fine tuned suitmation with motion capture CGI ONLY during more complex and hard to do shots. Its is a live action special effects movie, not Shrek or some video game. If you want it to look real, use REAL effects, and not oversaturate with CGI just because Peter Jackson, George Lucas, and the rest of Hollywood does. Do it the way Tsuburaya would have done it if he had the time and money a big Hollywood blockbuster allows.

If Hollywood really worked like that then the Clash of the Titans remake would've been stop-motion. It's what the fans wanted but not what would've brought in the crowds. After what we've seen with Avatar, suitmation would just be regarded as a step backwards in both the public's and Hollywood's eyes. Motion capture is going to be the closest thing we'll get to suitmation. They're not going to do suitmation for some scenes, and mocap for the more complex ones. That's just a waste of money, time, and effort. They're going to go with the more sophisticated, and palatable effect.

If there is going to be any suitmation used at all, I'm going to be just absolutely surprised.

for the movements i think of suit motion with motion capture during the scenes where Godzilla is near the camera and the CGi for the most complex movements.

I do not understand the love for the Hesei face. I understand that its what most of the fans here grew up with, but I personally am not huge on the overly feline resemblance.

Kiryu Godzilla wasn't green. But I hope they go with charcoal gray.

I remember him having a greenist color in the movies? A charocal gray seems like a good choice for Godzilla's color.
