God damn it, I though we were past this "suits vs CGI" phase. :|

He hasn't been here long and probably expected everyone to agree with him - he probably didn't lurk very much, if I were to guess.

I still want Toho to continue with suits someday, though.

You do know that either one can be amazing when done right or really bad when done wrong right? Who cares as long as the CGI is decent and Godzilla still acts and looks like Godzilla.

This.

As long as the Effects and The Story are good...im Ok.

See CGI wasn't the problem with GINO, the problem was we had two idiots who just wanted to make their own monster and thus made him look and act nothing like Godzilla.

I still think they would get the best results if they used BOTH suits and CGI but if they are just gonna make him 100% CGI then so be it as long as they finally get the character down right.

Haha. I don't like some of the ways he depicts Godzilla, but I'll have to say, he is talented and that image is very awesome!

I like Godzilla standing upright, like a man or the other dinosaur monsters depicted in movies through stop-motion or suitmation in the era before Jurassic Park. I like the cat like, mammalian features of the '80's and 90's versions of Godzilla. It sets him apart from other dinosaur like mutations like the Rhedosaurus and GINO, as do the four toed feet with the heels touching the ground, like a bear.

As for the spines, I like the maple leaf or Godzilla '54's jagged spines and would only have the points on the ends sharpened so that they could be used as weapons and not just a bitch'n display.

The only thing holding G2k's look back for me is the three toes and a dewclaw foot design and the super jagged, blade like spines. Both are neat looking to me, but seem like corruptions of Godzilla's looks by GINO's earlier design. I do like G2k's Draconic head with the bigger maw though. Godzilla '90's version just looks more fierce with the double row of sharp teeth inside a snarling and burnt looking, cat like face.

As for the CGI used to bring this new Godzilla to life, I only hope that it looks as good as the animation used for GINO itself (Not the babies, ugh) or even better Bahamut-Sin from Final Fantasy Advent Children.

Godzilla's feet were like that in the first two movies before they got rid of the little forth toe for some reason. I think it looks better than having all four toes the same size.

Something in line with GMK or Heisei Godzillas works for me. The more classic Godzilla design -but updated- is my preference.

Same here, although I lean more towards Heisei (between it and GMK).

I've been partial to the G2k/Megaguirus suit lately. I like how reptilian and feral it looks while still being recognizably Godzilla-ish. It's also a great mix of immense bulk and maneuverability, as opposed to the chubby zilla that the Heisei one turned into.

As long as it stands upright like the original or at least semi uprigt, kind of leaning forward like G2k, and isn't a digitigrade toe walker that is hunched over like Zilla.

Also, thanks Tyler for pointing out that the dewclaw look was on the original monster. I now realize that the dewclaws on Zilla were on the outside of it's feet, totally different from G2k after all.

This guy posted another Godzilla bust concept:
http://tinyurl.com/3nkdaz6

It reminds me vaguely of Stan Winston's 1994 Godzilla design. Also, those mouth thingies are somewhat interesting (does anyone know what they're called? I couldn't find anything on what they are).

Thanks, now I want to watch the dark night.

Anyways,
I agree with above, I do think he will be more like his Heisei/Mellinium era. He will probably be a little modified from his t-shirt design.

The t-shirt design was just a promotional thing, basically LP saying "Oh, by the way, we're doing Godzilla, here's something to keep you guys waiting." They'll probably keep close to that design, though. Maybe a few changes here and there.
