That looks to me like the cinematographer lining up the shot. May or may not be ATJ (could be a stand in) but this tells us alot. That bag also looks like an army pack: http://i01.i.aliimg.com/wsphoto/v0/4897 ... litary.jpg so that would line up with his character being a soldier.

This scene is probably ATJ arriving in Japan. Vancouver is a pretty good match for Japan's climate, so hopefully this means a significant part of it takes place there.

One thing you can take from that video is that he wants the fans to see for themselves not only how hard they are working but how dedicated he is to making a good film and keeping us in the loop.
