Godzillas opponent kept a secret.

For the discussion of the upcoming Godzilla film by Legendary Pictures.

Godzillas opponent kept a secret.

Would you rather Godzillas opponent be kept a secret till the movie releases or would you want to know who he is fighting well before the movie release?

Depends. Is there gonna be more then one monster for him to fight? Plus you can't make accurate predictions on how dangerous his foe is gonna be since each incarnation of monsters is portrayed differently in how tough they are.

Hmm.. I'd like to know what it looks like but keep it's origin a secret.. assuming it's a new kaiju.

You have your fear, which might become reality; and you have Godzilla, which IS reality.

Have they even comfirmed that it will be a Toho monster?

If its a Toho monster then i rather it be a surprise. If it's not then I dont care to know now or later.

Perhaps they could call it The Thing and put a question mark over it.
Every film should have at least one animal attack.

I think we should know who the enemy is but hide him a bit more than Godzilla.

Maybe give us a name or a few concepts, but I'd rather not see the actual monster until closer to the release date.

Maybe they should subtly include it in the advertising. Like you see glimpses or parts of it in trailers and posters, but not enough to give it away.

If it's a new monster, show it to catch our interest. If it's an already existing Toho monsters, only tease us with hints and glimpses. Make us guess.

You guys are assuming we only get one monster for him to fight. We might get a few, a classic fan favorite and a new one.

I think having both new and old villains would be nice. The centipede in the trailer could just be a fodder type enemy with a stronger foe waiting in the wings.

I'm guessing we're going to have either one monster with multiple forms or multiple monsters, the centipede could just be a weaker stage of the true big bad or just a weaker monster who fights Godzilla before the true villain.

Regardless, at least we know now there will be at least one other monster.

If it's a Toho monster, I want to know which one... but they don't have to show the design of the creature.. Keep that for the film.

If it's a new monster i'd like to see concept art, an maybe it's name (if it has one) but keep it hidden in the trailer so we can get hyped to see it in action.

Godzilla will sell this film alone, but the hype of 1 or more creatures just add to fan anticipation. So far the hype for this film already is quite huge, granted were 2 years away assuming but it's starting the remind me of the early hype of the 98 Godzilla which shows there's still a fire left in this franchise.

I don't even know where this story of that "Deutalios" being an unused Toho creation to battle Godzilla even came from originally. That thing is a Tsuburaya monster from the Ultraman Tiga series and it's called King Ramott (aka King Molerat). There's even a BANDAI toy of him. This is NO Godzilla/Toho monster!

If they're keeping this in a "realistic" manner, then kaiju that come from outer space, or are created by other means other than the A-Bomb, probably won't be in this film.

Lets call these kaiju "mystical kaiju"

Lets have some fun and name all the kaiju that's origins CAN fit the "created by A-Bomb". And lets name a list of "mystical kaiju". Obviously we're talking about TOHO kaiju.

A-Bomb Kaiju: (I'll start the obvious; more likely to be in the film)
Anguirus
Rodan

Mystical Kaiju: (most likely won't be in the film)
King Ghidorah
