Your idea that they'll make Mothra more Holy/Divine is based on the idea that they'll draw from the nineties and 2K incarnation, despite the classic Mothra never being solidly established as either a mutation worshiped as a deity or as a legitimate deity (which is what makes that Mothra so much more mysterious and interesting).

I think it's amazing that you're entirely not understanding what I'm saying.

You said "This is how they will do it"

I said "You don't know that they will take that creative direction, especially when the character has had a wider range of origins, some of which are alot more interesting then just a straight God"

to which you interpreted as "So you just want it to be a giant moth"

I feel like you haven't even seen Mothra vs. Godzilla or Mothra if you think that incarnation of the character is JUST a giant Moth.

Better be careful about questioning Mothra's divine status. There are now fringe movements within the Leipedopteran Church that have forsaken our peaceful ways, and wish to impose Mothra's divinity upon the world by force.

Anyway, I can't imagine that Toho would allow Legendary to just chuck that entire aspect of the old girl's mythology to the wind. Even without the Shobijin, the GMK versions was about as far as they've wandered. She was still a mythical protector, whether or not we saw any worshipers.

Really, I blame myself for that.

Never shoulda fished that moth out of the sink last summer.

That's what I like about the Showa Mothra's mythology. It's a giant Moth on an Island ravaged by radiation. But does she simply have mutant abilities that are misinterpreted by the primitive Infant Islander's as divine or is she a true God?

Its' this ambiguity of science and myth that makes Mothra such a wonderful character and a prime example of what makes Toho genre films of that time so distinct. Simply answering the question as to what her deal is (ala RoM) is just boring and less intriguing.

U know, i don't think any of the Toho monsters are going to be in it at all. I'm pretty sure nobody at LP wants to pay for any of these monsters, because of cost.

King Kong's, Gamera's or the Cloverfield monster's lookalikes.
I mean, I don't want fake movie posters or toys being eaten, trampled or burned to waste screen time and bother fans.

Gabara should have a Thanos-style cameo at the end.

^ Are you trying to make me cry?

Although, a Thanos-style glimpse of Ghidorah peering down on our tempting little planet....

I think Spacegodzilla is a BAD choice for a beginning. This film is pretty much reintroducing Godzilla to America, and you want to throw TWO Godzillas in their faces?

Start with something SIMPLE.

Perhaps Spacegodzilla can be made by a scientist who wants t odestroy Godzilla, what if he's not alien.

Spacegodzilla is easily the most unoriginal monster that Toho ever created. Why create a new monster when we can just take our most popular monster and glue a bunch of tacky shit to him?

Yes maybe they can make him original now, like a reboot of Batman and the Joker, look at Bane he used to suck but now he rules.

If I was a gambling man, I'd bet my skreeonk dog and right arm that you don't know anything about Bane.

And Spacegodzilla is an artifact of the nineties and a nineties design philosophy. Let it stay there.

Uh, try that again? I have no idea what you're trying to say.
