While I don't really want Ghidorah either, I'm annoyed to see this point brought up again. People outside the fandom honestly have little to no idea who the majority of the monsters within the Godzilla franchise are. Mothra is the one that really has any sort of public presence. The point is, even an audience member recognizes Ghidorah, they aren't going to be like, "Hey! I recognize that monster! Let's go see this film now!" The reaction would be the same as Godzilla fighting a new creation or a lesser known villain.

Hence the point I made afterwards. Maybe a solo film would do better.

Except, we know we aren't getting a solo film. Seeing Godzilla fight another monster is sort of part of the character, and seeing it in the reboot would be alot of fun.

.. No.

The current mothra is fine. it just needs to move like a butterfly and be all over the place and fast. Now like it's on strings.

About if king ghidorah should be put in the new movie.
I see some people bringing up that when they replaced varan and anguirus for king ghidorah and mothra because they were more popular in japan. And that is what many people are overlooking, in Japan king ghidorah is popular butin the rest of the world not that much and I believe he's also not as well known in AMerica (If I'm wrong feel free to correct me. )
So what i'm saying is , I don't think King Ghidorah will make the film more money because the general audience doesn't know him.

Well, we cant use Megalon (American popular) cause people will just make fun of it, he's not the greatest design. King Kong would do, people have wanted a remake of that for a while now. A solo film is another idea (I would actually prefer that for some reason, check out my story idea in the thread by that name).

What monsters are popular in America but don't look horrible (in that sense). MechaGodzilla? Anguirus?

Won't happen. Ever. Universal charges way too much for something so ordinary and plain.

A solo film is another idea (I would actually prefer that for some reason, check out my story idea in the thread by that name).

Not happening. One of the biggest complaints about GINO was that there was no opponent monster, and Legendary ain't about to repeat Tri-Star's mistakes.

Well maybe anguirus would do
He isn't that popular but king ghidorah is neither with the general public.
I think it doesnt make a differenc if they use KG or anguirus in the movie both Will do fine although i prefer anguirus

This is becoming more like "What monster SHOULD be in the reboot". So be it. Anguirus or some other "natural" tooth & claw monster would fit better than an alien, mystical or mechanical kaiju. Explaining Godzilla is tricky enough without throwing in quantistic anomalies, magic, aliens and mythology.

I agree, I don't want to see any infant G's, unless it is just a single Godzilla maturing, but even that is stretching it.

Personally I think Rodan would work the best as the villain.

What is it with Rodan? IMO Godzilla would woop his ass if he was serious in trying to kill him.

Toho had seriously let Rodan go in the intervening years.

He was one of Godzilla's equal back in the 60's (the other being Kumonga). Watch the battle in GTTHM, they were pretty much tearing each other a new one.

Then they let him become sub-par in the 90's and 2000's.

It's really sad how people don't see just how tough Heisei Ropdan is. If he had been 100m he would've been Godzilla's equal.

No one said he isn't tough, the problem is he wasn't Heisei Godzilla's equal like Showa Rodan was Showa Godzilla's equal.
