After seeing shots of the new Godzilla, my guess is that the body structure will be similar to this:

^From what I've heard the Godzilla trailer design was VERY bulky looking, so this may not be too far off.

Personally I would have preferred something like this:

...I know how much you guys love that design XD

Some people like all that dinosaur shit mixed with Godzilla I guess. Maybe in the new movie they can keep Godzilla in a cage and feed him whales.

Hell yeah they can! As long as they lower the whales in to the enclosure in the slowest, most awkward way imaginable. And of course there has to be a British big game hunter type for forced exposition. "he was testing the enclosure for weaknesses... He remembered."

Ha! You know they only go for the runner up concept art. How many times have you looked at a monster's concept art and said "Ya know, I actually like that better than the one they used."?

Actually, a lot of the Heisei concepts are like that for me.

Does it really matter if we've seen it before? Better to talk about art than just sit around idly speculating.

Did I give that impression? I've already posted this pic numerous times on this thread alone.

Also, would discussing the execution of the design still be on topic? By that I mean movements and expressions.

Even though I would like a sleeker looking Godzilla, I still want him to have the lumbering movements and upright posture.

I would still like this design that never truly got implemented in the millennium series. Godzilla's head looks awesome. Slight hunch. The dorsal spines are big but not overly gigantic like the films had it. Also, maybe they can lose the ultra spiky skin layer and go back to the smooth showa-era Godzilla skin like this seems to hint at. I think it would look great.

I really like that look. I guess the Millennium look is my favorite and I like the real spiky look.

I like him to have a hunched look as if the spikes are a burden to carry. At the base of the spikes I want some mini-spikes to be unevenly scattered on his back and maybe migrating to other parts of his back and body. I want it to look as if the spikes are growing out of his back as if it were a disease.

So then, what do you think of this? Might be exactly what you are looking for...

^ yeah that is pretty much it although I would tone down the spikes protruding out of his body just a little bit. But that is the basic Idea I am going for.

Yeah, the spikes are a bit "busy" looking, but everything else I'm good with. In fact, that is the meanest, most deadly looking Godzilla I've ever seen.

I agree! Now if we can just get Legendary Pictures to see it that way! :)
