What News Do You Hope To Be Announced This Year? (ver. 1)

So I thought about what Edwards could possibly have to say regarding this new Godzilla movie and would expect either of the following statements:

Edwards
1."I'm not allowed to give away too much, but I can give everyone a heads up on something big to come within the next couple of months."

2."Well so far we have a script and are currently working on casting auditions. We are just about set to begin filming within the next few months."

3."I just finished watching the entire 29 Godzilla films. My favorite one is the American version."

The 3rd statement is something to worry about.

Even if the 3rd one was true he would never be allowed to say that due to fan backlash. LP would just have him lie and say the first one is his favorite one, which he did. I remember people making a big deal out of that and I kept telling them "guys, saying the first one is the best/your favorite is the most cliched answer to any series and easy way in getting fans to trust you."

Not saying he is a fan or not and I'm not saying he was lying or telling the truth about the first one being his favorite, I'm just saying it'd be stupid and bad publicity for the project if he said the American one was his favorite. No one would want to see the film and lose faith in it if they heard that.

Well Gareth Edwards will be at Kapow and rumor has it there will be Godzilla news. I'll be posting it over at Unleash the Fanboy since a colleague will be there giving me any scoop on G.

This seems like wishful thinking. I doubt this will be announced any time soon. It'd be nice, if a bit out of left field considering we haven't gotten anything this major on the film recently.

I'd be content with this kind of response, because then we'd have a heads up to get excited about.

The director's panel Gareth Edwards will participate in begins at 7:00 PM London time, which is in about 20 minutes, so if we get any information, it should be in the next couple of hours.

I hope we hear something from the guy, because I am starting to think this project is going to die. Oh, I expect LP to make a Godzilla film, but it won't be from this team of players.

Believe it or not, I agree. Despite all the times we've clashed knifes, I agree with you tenup.

I'm just gonna put this "film" in a small corner in the back of my mind and forget about this film until something new is actually announced.

I'm sure we'll hear something next year. I just get this feeling that they plan to put the film out in 2014 since that's the Big G's 60th B-day. Quick question isn't there also like a second Comic-Con that happens in the fall?

Well thanks Livingcorpse for once understanding my frustrations. I come on this forum often and first take a glimpse at arrows sticky post of official Godzilla 201X news, and basically laugh to myself at the fact that there was only 1 post update from November. And then youtube has that dated Brian Rodgers interview from 2010. So far that's all we have. But don't make no mistake about it, I'm not really whinning about the fact. Just extremely frustrated. Well goodbye for now tohokingdom. Nothing more to post here. But before I hang up I want to give a shout out to tokyovigillante, Legion and Living corpse.
