Anyone else kind of like the FW version of Zilla?

Anyone else kind of like the Godzilla Final Wars version of Zilla? I actually like the design and how Toho's version of it looked. I realized I could start liking him more when I try to not think about how he was originally supposed to be Godzilla and once I did that and watching his scenes in GFW I do like him. I think he could be a cool independent Toho kaiju. Just always refer to him as ZIlla like Toho has done. Wouldn't mind seeing his own Toho film.

Not as much as Emmerich's. The design was certainly more detailed and more "real" as a result, not to mention the actual quality of CGI used for the G98 Godzilla looks better. I don't have a problem with Zilla coming back at all, though. That said, I see Zilla as fulfilling a similar role to Gorosaurus, so that begs another question: Do people have a problem with Gorosaurus being brought back with a proper bipedal dinosaur's stance (like Zilla's or the V-Rex in PJ's KK)? I don't, but if a lot of the fanbase did then just start using Zilla or something like that in the future.

So long as the head, arms, and tail were very similar to the original, I'd be cool with a hunched-over Gorosaurus. I'd also like to see Zilla used as an independant monster again, but given the choice between one or the other, I say bring on Goro.

I never said the '98 and GFW version didn't look similar I guess I meant I liked the CGI used even though it wasn't the best ever. I prefer Toho Zilla over Goro mainly due to the fact that I like Zilla's design better plus he is a lot more agile that is even shown in GFW, although I still admire Goro's kangaroo kick. I would like to see Toho Zilla gets his own Toho kaiju films. If Gaira and Sanda did Zilla certainly should and they should keep him at 90 meters.

The CGI used in the '98 version was of course better but I can tolerate the quality used in GFW.

Character: GTS...but since he is not in the original canon then a tie with GINO/GFW.

^ The CGI of Zilla in FW just looks "rushed" and maybe it was intentional. The CGI in GINO although
not the best looks more "Real" than in FW.

GINO's starting to show its age, but still looks better than Zilla. I guess that's what happens when you use a scan of a toy as your model.

So because the Gargantuas got their own flick, Zilla should have his own? That makes...so.. little..sense.

Zilla will never, ever get his own Toho film. Ever. Why would he? The American Godzilla is going to be replaced soon with a newer one, and the last thing Toho would do is to make the old one the star of a film that would be doomed for failure from the very start. If they make any more Godzilla films, it will star the Toho Godzilla.

Outside of video game appearance, comics, and other forms of media (other than movies), I'd say Zilla/GINO is dead.

They ruined any potential Zilla had as his own monster by simply calling him ''Godzilla'' in 1998 movie.

Toho will never make a movie with him because he isn't Godzilla, an i'm pretty sure they want to forget that abomination of that film to there franchise. The only reason Zilla appeared in Final War's was to finally show who's the real Godzilla an destroy the character permanently

Hollywood, No matter the company (even if they could) will never use that particular character because of the backlash from Godzilla fan's an critic's bashing the creature during the time of it's release an the most important it was tied to one of the biggest disappointing films of the 90's.

Just learn to live with the fact that Zilla is dead, an any chance on you ever seeing him again except maybe in comic's an games an even those are very slim.

Yeah since I remember seeing Final Wars in 2005 and I was like "Oh shit, it's the American Godzilla". They don't like any different from each other and they are pretty much the same thing. The CG for GINO is oblivious better then FW given that GINO had a budget around 120 million and Final Wars budget was around 30 or 40 million.

I figured the bashing would come sooner or later...guess that's what happens when you show any hint of likeness towards Zilla at all. Just to be clear I would much rather see a new Toho Japanese Godzilla movie more than a ZIlla movie I just do like Zilla and would like to see him appear again even though it is highly unlikely except maybe in video games.

Zilla getting killed off in Final Wars was the whole idea to prove who was a better version of Godzilla. I think Toho is going to keep Zilla dead forever and I doubt anyone will make figures off of him.

No one's intentionally trying to make you feel bad for liking Zilla, it's a fine animal in it's own right.. An could probably make one hell of a fun popcorn movie out of the Godzilla Universe.

Were just being honest in the fact that there's no reason in the world to ever see this monster back on the screen that all. I'm sure most of us wouldn't mind seeing Zilla out of his own film or even a cameo in a Toho film.... but the chances of that happening are slim, an a big Hollywood film NONE.

Esp with Godzilla, Pacific Rim, an even a rumored Cloverfield sequel in the possible works... It's unlikely to ever see this creature return.
