I'll answer for him: she stabbed Godzilla in the crotch.

 I don't remember that...
I think my favorite is Monster X and Orga. They seemed like the most original monsters out of them all. Most of them were redesigns (Kiryu's just Mechagodzilla with a new name.), and Megaguirus seemed like a different Battra, but she was still original.

Different, as in worse.
Its amazing how much better Battra looks than Megaguirus, considering that the films are practically a decade apart.
The dead animals in KOM are a result of high powered signals sent from aliens,to awaken the dormant monsters. Animals with similar senses are overloaded from the signal &drop dead. That way much of the world will be destroyed in prep for the invasion.

I don't see what's so bad with Megaguirus' costume, I'd agree if you were talking about execution but even then, Battra still looks like a toy anyway.

Megaguirus is way cooler than Battra IMO, though both were executed horribly.

I've been really liking Orga lately. The suit could have been better (particularly the arms), but it's a pretty awesome design and he put up a good fight.

I want to see a movie come out with Battra and Megaguirus in it, maybe fighting, but they have the same spfx going for them as Mothra and Rodan did in GFW, maybe a little better. Then they would be elevated to a few of the most awesome monsters to ever grace the screens of Godzilla movies.

Hm. Battra...never really got all the love for it. Sure, the design is all right, if a little bit too much like bad "Evil Mothra Fan-Fic".

I get that it IS supposed to be like a "Dark Mothra" but they could've been a little more clever and subtle at getting that across, but whatever. I certainly shouldn't expect subtlety.

I my opinion, Megaguirus's design actually works better as a "Orochi Mothra". Mothra is very obviously a giant moth, right? Megaguirus is a giant dragonfly; certainly a little mutant but it still resembles and is reminiscent of a dragonfly(which is pretty cool, by the way). Battra is...well, what exactly is Battra anyway? Is it really just a...scary moth?

See, that really bothered me about it. If Battra's wings were, say, like a fly's and y'know, all shimmery and stuff; cool.
Right, then Battra is a giant gnarly horsefly, cool.
Makes sense, moths/butterflies are generally considered the prettiest of insects. Flies are intertwined with filth, decay, the diabolic.
Again, cool.

See, that's organic design. Just palette swapping (which Battra verges on being) is a cheap get out; he's dark, so he's bad.

It doesn't help that Battra has one of the most barren of background. Right, Mothra but bad; that's already all there really is to him and it's like it carries over into the design. As if the creators just gave up/didn't try and made the most obvious "Doppel-Mothra".

It doesn't help that GvsMothra is pretty much where Toho pulled the plug on any creativity for the rest of the Heisei period, IMO.

And before anybody gets mad, I actually am fond of the Battra design. But only as a design.
If they hadn't used the look, and I had an artbook of all the concept designs and I saw Battra in it, I'd say,"Cool. Really cool, but I'm glad they didn't use it." I dig it, but it's just kind of creatively the lowest common denominator.
And more laser beams??? C'mon, if you're going to do giant mutant versions of insects, why are you not drawing from the things they actually do?
Bugs have way cooler, totally natural ways of defending themselves than friggin' lasers.

And yet again, I find myself agreeing with you. Except for losing (all) originality. I love SpaceGodzilla (note: I never said the move) and the concept for Godzilla vs. Destoroyah, along with the title enemy... That's about it, though.

EDIT: And just for shits and giggles, I'm watching the only movie Battra's been in on Encore Family right now, lol.

I gotta say I'm fond of Orga the most this era. Kiryu and Megaguirus are close seconds, because I think that incarnation of MechaG is the most badass.

Orga really strikes me though as an awesome character that could've been. Maybe a new generation SpaceGodzilla? Nope. He swallows Godzilla and gets blown up doing so. I'm so reminded of Biollante there, it isn't funny. She's one of my favorite monsters, so maybe that's a reason why.
