I suggest they use Gorosarus, or someone that hasn't died in one series.

King Caesar would have been a better choice if Toho had more money to add another Guardian monster. He would fit better with the movie then Gorosarus would.

Baragon's role would've essentially been the same.

Anguirus? That's the role Mothra took. I say this mostly because of Mothra's compassion for Ghidorah. She was willing to take hits for him. She died for others. This loyalty is something classic Anguirus shares. And since Kaneko was a big fan of the '60s, I'd say Anguirus would've been portrayed in the same manner.

That leaves Varan. This would've been Varan's big break. Imagine Varan as a a spirit bending, lightning spewing dragon. That's an awesome character renovation. I would've loved to have seen this in the flesh. It's a big shame we didn't.

Come again? Why would he have been a "lightening spewing dragon"?

Baragon=earth
Varan=air
Angurius:water

but I like your version better always wanted to see Varan take on Godzilla.

Anyway a sequal could be Varan,Angurius,King Ceasar and Manda or Gorosaurs if they wanted to.

I think GMK will end up being a stand alone film, the chances of a sequel is very unlikely.

Godzilla - Destruction
Baragon - Earth
Mothra - Water
King Ghidorah - Heaven

According to this anyway:

I pretty sure Varan was switched with Mothra and Anguirus with Ghidorah.

Mothra role was made for Varan since Mothra lives in a lake and was mistake for Issie in the movie. I'm still happy with the movie that we got, and GVA would not make as much money if Ghidorah or Mothra was not in the movie.

I would have liked it more if they would have stuck to having Varan and Anguirus in the movie.
I like the idea of Varan being the one to have the power up and fight Godzilla one on one.

I think this is really something a lot of people kinda just need to get over.

Hearing "Varan was screwed because he wasn't in GMK" every time the monster is mentioned is getting really tiring.

I doubt it wouldve been a new chapter in his slim career. It's not like Baragon got a TV-mini series out of his appearance in GMK, and his resume is pretty much identical to Varans.

I also don't buy that GMK wouldn't have been as successful if it kept the original line-up. As I understand it, GMK prospored from it's darker tone and positive word-of-mouth. While mothra and ghidorah probably did add a zero or two to their profits, the line-up still wouldn't have changed the positive word of mouth factor.

Angurius would have went one on one with Godzilla Varan would have just held out till angurius arrived.

I beleve that the spirt ball would have been a co-op attack from angurius and varan in the orginal battle.

i think they should have Angy replaced with manda, but ithink it would have been better if he was female.

That should totally happen. Go back in time and tell Kaneko.

I didn't like Ghidorah's presence. He's supposed to be a planet destroyer and here he is saving the earth that he has hated so much. I don't like it, but that is the only problem with it.

That's silly considering it's simply a different interpretation of the character.

Seriously I get sad when I realize that this film will never get made. It had such potential. Such promise. But Kaneko squandered his gifts...
