Keep in mind that if the suit is big, the actor inside won't be able to do much. I think this was one of the problems with the Heisei suit.

Speaking of Sokogecki-Goji, this is my favorite Millennium suit. the shape and appearance is greatly reminiscent of the early Showa suits, combined with the stature and personality of the Heisei Godzilla -- except where Heisei-Goji was basically just a brute, Sokogecki-Goji is sadistic. He doesn't just enjoy flaunting his power; he specifically looks like he's out to maim and kill. You can see it in his face, which has the boxy shape and subtle grin of Heisei-Goji, but is now aided by larger, sharper teeth, big aggressive eyebrows, and spooky white eyes - but then again, perhaps the pure white eyes detract slightly from expression. I think the beady eyes of Shodai-Goji might have worked better here.

While I consider Kiryu-Goji to have the best facial expressions, Sokogecki-Goji comes in close behind.

Love the way you put that. Though I'm a fan of the white eyes. I think they fit in well with his character in this film and its so unique that you immediately know which Godzilla you are looking at. The eye brows and lips did so much in the mannerism department that I think it actually compliments it in the film very well. Because his eyes are ghostly white, you have to pay more attention to the other subtle changes in his face, and Kaneko did a great job at making those noticable and obvious enough.

Yes, I love the detail put into the suit. It's a shame that it's hindered by a couple major flaws.

Bingo. The model Tyler posted does a good job of showing what could have been, IMO.

Moving on...

Final-Goji: fans seem pretty split on this design. Many like it, many dislike it, and many are somewhere in-between. I'm one of those between-ers. It's good, but in many aspects not as could as it could have been. The face is one of those aspects. I'm guessing the designers were aiming for a look similar to Mosu-Goji: sullen and resentful, a character who would rather be left in peace, but won't hesitate to punish those who provoke him. Unfortunately, Final-Goji's head was designed so that the eyes are almost completely hidden, which impairs the expressions & emotions that were meant to be conveyed.
As an interesting side note, the Shinzen model (posted many times before by myself and others) seems to have completely changed personality by exposing the eyes. This Godzilla looks more akin to the Heisei Godzilla: a kaiju who's very aware of his strength, and enjoys flaunting it. His face says, "You wanna fight? COME AND GET IT."

Have I mentioned how remarkable the subtleties in design are?

For me, nothing can replace the 2000 one. When I think of Godzilla, that's what comes to mind. I love how the dorsal plates are huge and spiky. For me it's the definitive and perfect look.

Perhaps ironically, Mire-Goji is my least favorite Millennium suit, and fairly low on my G suit list overall. This is, in part, due to the design being a little too extreme for me, but I now realize the MAJOR flaw of this suit is in the face. To me, the broad snout, splayed teeth, and the look of the eyes convey little to no personality. Sure, Godzilla looks savage and ferocious, but he doesn't look intelligent - and that is key.
IMO, Mire-Goji is little more than an animal; and Godzilla should be much more than that.

^ This. The only two Godzilla's that actually felt, and acted like Kings to me were GMK Godzilla, Final Wars Godzilla They both knew that they couldn't be stopped, and flaunted their power constantly. The rest just acted like gigantic animals that relied purely on instinct, and not on brain-power. Godzilla 2000 was the best "animal" Godzilla in my opinion though.

Godzilla 2000. I like the big jagged spines and the look of the claws and tail. I like the ferocious look of the head, it coveys his dangerous nature. :g2k:

He looks as though if you even try to touch him, he'll wreck your shit. I hate that they modified the face in Godzilla X Megaguris. I think if they kept this head, but made him dark grey again, and made the spines bone white, he would look a bit better. This design comes in 3rd on my list of favorite millenium designs though.

To each his own. ;-)

IMO, Mire-Goji lacks personality, at least compared to its successors.

The G-2000 head looks eternally irritated to me. Like he's been through too much to get pissed or even annoyed, but not quite enough to make him immune to the things that bother him.

GMK although I liked his personality better than I even did the design, Godzilla felt badass to me for the first time in over a decade, probably since Godzilla Vs. Biollante (1989). For me at least GvB (1989) was the last time he was as terrifying as this, in looks, design, mannerisms, and personality.

Mire-Goji is one of my favorite suits (if not number one...if MonsterArts ever does a G2K, I'll pre-order it quicker than I've pre-ordered anything), but I'm not a fan of the face frontal. That shot is pretty ugly in my opinion.

Kinda like them all. But I guess if one stood out the most for me it was G2000. Then GMK, then SOS...
They all had something I felt was unique and "brought something to the table", if you will.
And they all probably came with some flaws too, whether I noticed them or not.

Godzilla looked at his best in Godzilla vs. Megaguirus to me. He had that slightly crazed, violent, unhinged feral look. I don't think he's ever looked nearly as dangerous or as intimidating. The level of detail on the suit was amazing, too.

The best look would be ''GMK'' for me personally out of the ones in the poll only because it comes close to my favorite design in the entire series.. This

Which film is that shot from? I haven't watched the Heisei movies in so long...

But I love how monstrous he looks in the Heisei series. The feline face with reptilian skin gave him such a unique look that combined an intelligent creature with a dangerous predator. All the millenium designs IMO just try too hard to be "extreme" and feral looking, while the Heisei design does it naturally.
