^Godzilla has ears in the first two Showa films and all of the Heisei/Millennium films.

Final wars pwns first of all final wars looks like oldschool godzilla and second of all he looks like CGI. If not that tokyo sos I still don't like the purple spines.

I always liked the Godzilla design from Godzilla x MechaGodzilla, and Godzilla x Mothra x MechaGodzilla: Tokyo SOS. The color was more traditional (I didn't like the green skin and purple spines as much on the G2K and GxM suits).

The GMK version is pretty wicked, but I would probably go with the tokyo SOS version, because to me its like a cross between the heisei, & g2k version.

^Um, yes (though looking again at GMK Goji, he has no ears. All the others do).

I changed my vote to Sokogecki-Goji (2001). Critically speaking, it's not the best, but I think it it's the one that "clicks" with me the most.

I would probably pick GMK first if it wasn't for the beer gut. I love that suit, but I find the gut to be just too big. So the Mire-Goji suit gets my vote. Very animal-like and had just more of a ferocious look to it.

I kinda meant in general. Poor wording on my part.

What I really like about Sokogecki-Goji is... okay, there are a few things:

First of all, it's retro. It bears a striking resemblance to the early Showa suits. It has the simple skin and musculature of Shodai-Goji & King-Goji, and has the breast bone & eyebrows of Mosu-Goji. I especially love his spines; They're very jagged and irregular like Shodai-Goji, while avoiding looking excessively spiny.

Second of all, it's modern. Let me clarify. Although it resembles the early Showa suits, it has the advantage of modern technology. As a result, it has a slightly more "refined" look than the Showa suits. The aforementioned spines, in particular, are an improvement. They're well proportioned with each other & the main body, and they aren't floppy! This suit is also very flexible, unlike suits from the past 15 years. It also takes full advantage of animatronics; This Goji can blink, snarl, and turn his head in every direction.

Third of all, "Ghost Godzilla" looks seriously dangerous. Look at those teeth! Look at those claws! Look at those talons! this Goji looks fully capable of mauling his opponents and tearing them limb from limb. Let's also not forget that the suit was downright BIG.

Overall, I think this suit made both major & subtle improvements on Godzilla's appearance. It still has some major flaws, but it's one of my favorites.

Well said, Rody. All of those reasons, and more, are why I love the Oni/Sokogeki-Goji the most out of all of them. It was my favorite Godzilla since '91, and my favorite 'modern' Godzilla design. The "beer gut" doesn't bother me at all.

I generally like the GMK Godzilla but he does look weird from some angles. And those ridiculous clown feet...fortunately we don't see them often.

I think I've figured out that the primary fault of the suit is that the lower portion of the body (torso, legs & feet) is out of proportion with the rest of the body; it's too large.
I also think that's part of the issue behind the potbelly.

I agree, even though I like the GMK suit, his feet here bit too big, and of course it looked like he had a big old potbelly.

Yeah, I don't blame anyone for disliking it; it has a lot of faults. For me, though, they aren't too distracting.
