I'd much rather see a sequel than a remake. Then it wouldn't be so bad when the writers f@ck the storyline up and start adding in a bunch of garbage like they do with so many other remakes. CGI King Kong and Godzilla? Not my personal preference, but it would be interesting if only once.

Agreed, Varan is one of my favorite kaiju, but his movie was quite lackluster - he deserves a remake. It probably won't ever happen, though. Hell, it's hard enough to get him in a Godzilla film, so the chances of another Varan solo movie are pretty much zero.

Back on topic... I think it would be cool to do a continuation, kind of like they did in 1984 with the original Gojira. Not ignore all the rest of the movies, just pick up 60 years after the last one left off. I think that would be worth a shot.

If toho won,t make a godzilla movie now there's a chance they won,t ever again if they do make a remake it'll be the same as before with 3d effects
