You're welcome.

*edit* Actually, looks like you're shit out of luck. It seems that the movie has been removed.

That sucks, but atleast I have the movie on DVD.

One of my personal favorite Godzilla movies.
- My favorite Godzilla suit
- Megaguirus had a cool design and concept
- Megulana (probably didn't spell it right but you know the offspring?)
- I liked man-made Black Hole Dimension Tide
- The scenes where they attempted to use DT on Godzilla were cool and well done
- The final battle is fun and has some cool spots

This one was my favorite Millennium film until Godzilla Against Mechagodzilla. Definitely original, which was the best part of GXM along with the epic action sequences and the start of using female leads as the top major human characters and yes, that goes for Megaguirus too.

I don't really like the movie that much. Megaguirus and the Black Whole bomb are pretty cool, but the plot seemed lacking. Also. the megunolon scene seemed a bit too violent/gory for a godzilla movie...
The godzilla body slam was awesome though.

Godzilla vs Megaguirus is a weak Godzilla film in terms of pretty much everything (except the design of Megaguiurs herself & the score), it drags on too long, the characters are just pretty meh and while some of the effects look good, some others are just bad. Godzilla's body splash on Megaguirus is just pure comedy.

Hell if MST3K were still on TV then GXM would have been a perfect fit for em

I liked the extra-spiky Godzilla, and megaguirus is a nice monster. The music sounds like Bolero, and it fits the dragonfly movement. The nerdy guy is quite silly, I think Kiriko is hot and I want a G-Grasper uniform.

Well, like many Godzilla films, it has its strengths and weaknesses.

Strengths-
-A pretty good score that is one of my favorites among the genre.
-A badass and awesome new Godzilla that really stands out to me.
-An interesting, sort-of-new kaiju.
-Unique and epic fights.

Weaknesses-
-Bland and/or average characters and plot.
-Unrealistic, (albeit cool) sci-fi.
-Unimpressive and disappointing special effects.

Overall, I think this movie is the definition of 'just above average', with some really good and really bad elements.
If you have nothing to lose, than you have nothing to fight for.

Over all, this is probably my least favourite of the Millennium series. By no means do i not like it somewhat, however. The concept of dimension tide, while admiringly unrealistic, was a cool and fresh take on an anti-kaiju weapon. The updated Meganulons were also pretty sweet, and Megaguirus herself makes it into my top ten favourite monster list. I kind of see this movie as the modern day Godzilla vs Megalon. Critically, it's not all that good, but it can still be a lot of fun.

I think of it more of as the G vs Gigan of the Millenium set. It feels like a made for tv movie, but one that is enjoyable.

I actually enjoy this movie a good deal. I love the black hole element...although it is very unrealistic but pretty neat. I am surprised that it isn't that well received. I think it is much better than Godzilla vs Megalon which is real awful in my book.

I used to think the Dimension Tide cannon was really cool, and I still give it credit for being completely different from anything else we've seen in the franchise. Now, however, I think I recognize that it's also the most insanely ridiculous idea we've had in the franchise.

Other than GFW, this is my least favorite Millennium film.

It doesn't REALLY rewrite history. The Millennium series doesn't really keep any full continuity with the original G54. There's a connection, but every last second of the movie isn't canon.

Full continuity I believe is the major plot points. Of course every last second doesn't really matter. They say that there was no oxygen destroyer and Godzilla never died, 2 major facts from the '54 movie. If that isn't rewritten then I don't know what is.

Artistic license is one advantage of making movies. If it doesn't fit your plot, just ignore or rewrite it.

The best thing GVM has going for it is that Godzilla gets a lot of screen time. Even some of the best films in the series have that problem where Godzilla isn't seen or even mentioned for a half hour, and then after one appearance he disappears for another half hour. GVM started with a few minutes of Godzilla action, then he returned a half hour later, then 15 minutes later, then 15 minutes later, etc. He actually got quality screen time, and looked awesome. Megaguirus, in fact, had hardly any bearing on the plot. The entire film could have been Godzilla's attacks on power plants. A little kid finding an interdimensional egg only provided a pointless side monster for the (admittedly fun) final battle that could just as easily been Earth Vs Godzilla, and the flooding. Godzilla could have caused the flooding somehow.

EDIT: Didn't know the strings were simply the DVD's fault for being washed out, so I can remove that complaint.

I feel that the ending was dragged on for way too long. The ending should have been the Major standing in front of the crater that was Godzilla's "grave", then the movie should've gone to the credits. The biggest problem I have with this movie, is that that stupid kid was only in the movie to get the egg from point A, to point B, and then was never to be seen again until after the credits (which should've had Godzilla vaporizing him). While I despise kids in Godzilla movies (Showa movies are the exception), I feel that if you just had to put the boy in the movie, then have him actually do something meaning full and not just trick us into beliving that he is a part of the main cast. Overall the movie was ok for having a ton of time used for Godzilla/monster battles... But the story was ridiculous, and the characters were just meh.

I realize the last post in this thread was about a year ago, but I wanted to talk about the film and didn't think creating another discussion thread would be fitting.

Anyways, I really enjoy this one. It almost cracks my Top 5 Favorite Godzilla films (probably will at some point). I think the Godzilla suit in it is pretty great and I found Megaguirus to be a pretty original and one of the more unique kaiju in Godzilla films. I liked the concept they had of the man-made black hole and like the idea that the military really is trying to create something besides missiles in these movies. The final battle in it I thought was great as well with a really good finish (Godzilla catching Megaguirus's stinger in his mouth and biting it off, proceeds to use his Atomic Ray to finally destroy her). The score in it was good as well. I know I may be in the minority here, but I loved the film.

I really liked this one when I first saw it. I don't consider it particularly good anymore, but it does have its good moments - specifically the big battle at the end, in which both Godzilla and Megaguirus use some clever tactics.

Yeah, on first viewing I found it a lot of fun, but with repeat viewings I definitely found that it was little moments that had kept me interested, but that nothing really tied together into an effective whole.
