Why do you think that I generally avoid the 90's films? The 00's films at least tried to fix the characterization problem.

I think anyone who tries to avoid any Godzilla film, and claims to be a fan, is in denial and pretensious.

Meh, I don't really watch the '90s films either (or '80s films for that matter). GMK and Godzilla 2000 are the only post-Showa movies I bother with. I'm a fan of some Godzilla films and not others.

Same here. I'm also a James Bond fan, but guess what? I don't care for every movie in that series, either! In fact, I cannot think of any long-running film franchise that consistently impresses me. The quality of the films seem to fluctuate over the decades, and the highs usually do not last as long as the lows.

Relax, no need to get so defensive about it. One person said something. You're in the majority, my friend.

I see that as more of a positive cause it's different and nice to get a break from the same old smash the city deal.

Except that there was no action. It was the most boring, uninteresting fight ever filmed in a Godzilla movie.

That was as fun as looking at 2 dwarfs making sweet love.

Oh I'm not saying the fighting under water wasn't bad, I'm just saying it's nice to get a different battlefiled once in a while, kinda how the Showa days would sometimes have fights in the countryside. Plus the first half did take place on land so you still got to see the city get smashed.

I just hope they had fought underwater instead of giving each other a massage in the back.

My favorite movie of the Millennium Series. This film brought Godzilla back from the 2000 look to the original. The monsters were all good, especially Godzilla's white demon eyes and Ghidorah's fangs. The only thing I did not like too much was this movie's Mothra. It didn't click to me like the others.

I didn't understand the Mothra in this film. It looked extremely different from the rest. Purple eyes, big legs, small wings, just not like the rest.

So if enough people like something that's genuinely good it becomes overrated and bad? That's what I get from Godzilla fans now. We'll never be able to enjoy anything ever again.
