Hedorah didn't need to be treated that way, but since they added every other Showa monster.... A better idea would have been Gaira. I know Gaira or Sanda was briefly shown in the opening titles, but it would've made more sense to see Gaira easily slain.

While I am a little weary of seeing the Big Three (Mechagodzilla, Mothra, and King Ghidorah) used so often, I will say I've always thought it was weird that Mechagodzilla of all kaiju got left out of Godzilla's 50th anniversary.
