@ Hellspawn28: saying the Heisei timeline shouldn't be revisited because it's 20 years old isn't a valid argument, if you ask me. I know several other members here would like to see the Showa timeline revisited, and that's been over for almost FORTY years. Plus, as an outside reference, the Ultra series returned to the original timeline after a similar time gap, and pulled it off very well.
I think a better argument would be that the Heisei series had definitive closure, whereas the Showa series was more open-ended.

I agree. I don't see how time should keep something from being revisited. That's why reboots exist (some of which are actually pretty decent).

Destoroyah was discarded, because I remember hearing of a First Draft of Final Wars where Godzilla Jr was growing and finally faced Destoroyah as a kind of revenge. But I already said, it was discarded.
