Do you think Destroyah should have been in a Kiryu movie?

Postby GodzillavsJason » Mon Oct 25, 2010 6:13 pm

This question hit me about the Kiryu films like would Destroyah have be a good idea in one of the Kiryu films. Because Destroyah could have been a microscopic thing that when they were building Kiryu and escape and mutated in his final form . Also it would have been good in Tokyo SOS, have Destroyah be the main villian in Tokyo SOS, where Godzilla, Kiryu, and Mothra would have fought Destroyah and have Kiryu sacrifice himself to kill Destroyah and save Godzilla and Mothra. I think Destroyah would have been good for the main Villian in the Kiryu movies. Tell me what you think about if Destroyah would have been the main villain in the Kiryu films.

How in the world would that have worked considering Destroyah's origin was so specific to the one movie he appeared in?

Um, no. Not only would Destroayh be nerfed but he would be screwed if fighting Godzilla cause then he wouldn't be able to see a AZC coming.

These "What if ONE ELEMENT was involved in a DIFFERENT FILM" threads are getting rediculous. If you want to write fan fiction, we have a forum for that. Just stop with these stupid threads that only have discussion that lasts for 15 posts and don't accomplish anything. Goddamnit.

^ I had no idea the internet was such serious business. Oh dear.

I don't know, I like how the Kiryu films were more Showa material oriented.

I think Destroyah is one of those one time villains only things. I rather not see him in the Kiryu movies.

Why don't we toss King Kong into G2K, too? And Varan into GFW? And Mechagodzilla into Destoroyah? And how about we redo GvMG and ToMG so that at the end of GvMG, MechaGodzilla reveals he's Godzilla's father and apologies for molesting him as a child and causing the intense trauma that's caused him to go destroy cities, and then kills King Caesar, setting up for ToMG, where Titanosaurus kills MechaGodzilla and goes out for beers with Godzilla.

Oh, and why don't we just replace GFW with 120 minutes of a shot of a carton of milk?

No what if Godzillas breath was actually red? What if his dorsal plates were shaped like maple trees?

Nono, what if it was all a dream in Godzillas mind and he's actually A reincarnation of The Xilian leader who went back in time?

No. The screenplay would have just been a mess if Destoroyah was in.

Is anyone ever happy with how things are? I see so many topics regarding lost projects, what could have been and "what if so-and-so appeared in this movie" that I'm starting to think there are lots of people here who just can't enjoy these movies and the history of the Godzilla series for what it is.

I think it's just an extension of the whole fact we've had virtually nothing Godzilla-wise to look forward to since 2003, until this year. It's just those kinds of ideas that crop up. I can't blame people for not being happy, but it annoys me when multiple threads pop up that come down to "What if <character> was in <movie>?" What ifs are nice and all, but it'd be much better to just have one catch-all "What If..." thread IMO

Bizarre question, ultimatley though he doesn't really make sense in the universe.

Would have been neat to have a swordfightish battle between his lazer horn and Kiryu's blade though,

Lost projects are one thing. They're only as fun as the information surrounding them. The discarded '94 American Godzilla is fun to talk about because there's a lot of information surrounding it, an actual script, and even a general Godzilla design. We have an idea of how the film itself might have been like, even though we don't know how it would have done. Compare that to a thrown away concept like Godzilla vs. the Devil. All we know about that would have been that Godzilla fights the Devil. There's nothing else to go on and, therefore, nothing else to talk about. Same with the other discarded ideas like Bagan, Nessie, etc.

Threads like these, however... "What if Destoroyah was in a Kiryu movie?" "What if GMK Godzilla replaced Showa Godzilla?"... are pointless. If Destoroyah were in a Kiryu movie then it would have been an entirely different film. A different plot, a different monster, and a different outcome. There's no way of telling just how anything might have played out. If the GMK Godzilla replaced the Showa Godzilla then most of the Showa series wouldn't even exist. It's random ideas pulled from thin air with absolutely nothing to go on. It's nothing more than fanfiction that would be more appropriate in the Fan Fiction thread or in the "General Toho/Movie Ideas" thread. All these threads attract are snarky remarks and complaints about how stupid the thread is instead of actual discussion. A general "What If...?" thread is probably a better idea than seeing these things pop up everywhere.

I understand that there's almost nothing to talk about with Godzilla nowadays, but surely we can do better than this.

Thank you, Arrow.

When I see a thread like this it feels like the original poster is basically saying, "I was playing with my Bandai creation toys out in the sandbox earlier today and Destroyah is really my favorite monster. But I no likey the Kiryu films too much. Hey guys, how would everything be different if this awesome kaiju was in these movies! Let's talk about it!"
