Most Ridiculous Moments

Post by eggcheese »

Since we have a "Most Ridiculous Moments" thread for both the Shows and Heisei series', it makes sense to have one for the Millennium Series.

Mine is from the "Americanized" Godzilla 2000:

Drunk 1:"Ah, the damn teriyaki's cold again."

Drunk 2: "But as long as the beer's cold, who cares?!"
"Oh no, they're getting pissed off!"

IIRC the "as long as the beer is cold" line came from toho's international dub

Giragoji's flying bodyslam is up there. I've never liked that scene much. I'm glad they tried to bring back some of the silly Showa style for GxM, but that was taking it a little far.

No. Given that the majority of Godzilla kaiju aren't sentient and are essentially just large animals, that's a little bit messed up. "Shrug", i digress do what you like, but i don't need the information.

Kudo's super-not-creepy 'Hackers'-style computer program he used to try and give the Dimension Tide one more shot from Godzilla x Megaguirus. The chibi-version of Major Tsujimori in a nurse's outfit (which is totally not questionable  )... who then dons a jetpack to BLAST 'problems'/holes in the computer program like it was ripped from some mid-90's movie concept of how the internet/computers work.

Delete enemies. Lol.

The most ridiculous moments in My opinion.

G2K: Godzilla being hit by the UFO and being shot down instantly.
GXM: Godzilla jumping.
GMK: Godzilla shoots his atomic breath by the neck.
GXMG: Kiryu throws Godzilla through the air.
GMMG: Godzilla is bitten by the larva of Mothra in the tail.
GFW: King Caesar kicks Anguirus and Godzilla tries to catch him.
"The King of Monsters That Appeared in 1954" is Godzilla!

The Godzilla body splash...it was equal parts awesome and silly, especially after he stuck Megaguirus down into the rubble covered ground like a picket sign for a yard sale.

Every single scene in Godzilla: Final Wars was ridiculous.

If everything is ridiculous, then that ridiculousness becomes monotonous, and that in turn is pretty boring. :)

Tokyo, a smoldering memorial to the unknown, an unknown which at this very moment still prevails and could at any time lash out with its terrible destruction anywhere else in the world.

I wonder if the reverse is possible, something so boring that it becomes ridiculous?

Holy shit, this.

I tried rewatching it a month ago and couldn't get past the Ebirah rampage scene, everything about that movie gets monotonous and unbearable after a while.

For me it is the opposite, I just can't stop watching, waiting for the next scene, then the next, all the way to the end. It is one of the movies that once I start watching it, I want to watch it all the way to the end.

GvsMG: Bodyslam. Megaguirus' face perfectly reflects what we're thinking.
Kiryu saga: Godzilla's facial expressions being hilariously over the top at times.
Final Wars: The soccer fight, the cringeworthy New York and Squirtle toy kid scenes.

Something about Megaguirus waving bye bye at Godzilla before he knocked that wooden cube like structure on top of him always tickled my funny bone.

I mean the monsters usually demonstrated slight anthropomorphic qualities, but this was about one notch away from mustache twirling villainy, lol.
