What should be done for future films?
Self explanatory. How should future Japanese Godzilla films be done? What do you guys think were the problems with the Millenium Godzilla films? What can Toho do to fix their Godzilla films once they start making them again after Legendary is done with the American Godzilla films?
To me Toho needs to do 3 things-
1. More original Godzilla films. Stop copying stuff that has already been done.
2.) Better Marketing.
3.) Stop being cheap and uptight. Allow for a little more creative freedom.

Re: What should be done for future films?
#1. Make a Godzilla film every 3 to 5 years instead of every year.
#2. Think outside the box, come up with more unique an well thought out story's for the series.
#3. Quit reusing the same monsters (ex: Mecha-Godzilla, Ghidorah, esp Mothra).
#4. Quit thinking so much about greed/money an do what's best for the fan-base and franchise.

1. Stop using the overused monsters.
2. Stop hiring talentless writers and directors.
3. More originality
Those are my only problems with the Millennium films.

Stay away from Kawakita.
Hire the makers of the Gamera trilogy.
Don't put out the films every year.
Don't rush the film.

Re: What should be done for future films?
Stop making films every fucking year
Make some original monsters and stop rehashing the same ones
Use some other one-time monsters that got the shaft after just one film
Hire some better dubbing agents for godsakes
Actually try with the script and make the human cast likeable
Stop rebooting the series after one damn film and stop using the original Godzilla as a reference or as the Godzilla in that film
Keep Godzilla looking the same for at least two films, or explain how the hell his appearance changed
Don't be greedy, money-hungry assholes and listen to the fans
Take Godzilla to different places and maybe even planets more often

Re: What should be done for future films?
-If LP doesn't do the following, Toho should do a Godzilla Trilogy
-Like everyone above me, more originality, new Monsters, new kind of plots, etc
-If you are using existing Monsters, use minor and lesser known ones instead of overusing and recycling the same ones, give today's audiences a different taste and something different
-Continuing from above, if you want to use the same monsters (King Ghidorah, Mecha-Godzilla, Mothra), save them for the last installments, because like you know, save the best for last
-Don't make Godzilla a COD Movie franchise by having a film every year, have time to write plan instead of rushing
-Don't reboot and keep a continuity, also don't reference Gojira and be another direct sequel to it

-stop using the overused monsters, you can use them maybe if you give them a great, GREAT revival, like for example, say ghidorah as a badass all powerful planet destroyer. If your going to reuse a monster, give a new and awesome feel
- stop blaming the monster if a movie does bad, unless all the fans are like pissed that the monster sucked!
- when creating a new monster, look back on past Godzilla monsters so we don't get a monster out of place, like obsisdius, he is out of place (I'm not going to discuss this...)

Let's keep Masaaki Tezuka, Wataru Mimura and Ryuhei Kitamura very far away from any future Godzilla movies.

MOAR TITS!
But seriously, a good plot and monster scenes that don't go so fast you blink and miss them (I'm looking at you FW).

Re: What should be done for future films?
Ok we should get a movie about a team of minyas that have to fight super giant condor and mecha gabara, the movie would be geared towards adults, so have scenes with like adult topics. Like minya doing drugs or be gettin dem women....

Re: What should be done for future films?
Don't make a Godzilla film every single year
Get an American dubbing firm to do the English dubbing
Create some original monsters & give lesser monsters some time to shine.

Wait until a talented filmmaker has a truly personal vision for a project. Period.

Maybe add a little bit of CGI for stunts that would be impossible for rubber suits to do.

1. Stop making Godzilla films every year
2. Stop re-using monsters
3. Use more original monsters, or bring back one-timers
4. Put effort into the movies (Better story, characters, etc)
5. Stop rebooting after every film
6. Stop using the same Godzilla roar (The Millennium roar was used in all 6 films and it's annoying as fuck)
7. Listen to fans
8. Make fights realistic. No monsters slowly bumping into one another or kung-fu stuff like in GFW. I wanna see the monsters biting and clawing at each other with animal savagery.
9. Stop having Godzilla attack the same place in every movie. No more Tokyo, Osaka, etc. Its fine if he does it like once or twice, but in every single movie? No thanks.

This is almost never a good idea.Gyaos wrote:7. Listen to fans
Hire screenwriters and directors with good storytelling sensibilities, and then let them tell the stories that they believe in. Good storytellers don't give people what they want, they give people what they need, and audiences cannot know what that is until it has been given to them.

Re: What should be done for future films?
1. More interesting characters. Characters that fans can actually care about and enough with forgettable performances.
2.Monster fights should be a little bit more intense to the point viewers are on the edge of there seats.
3. No more Mecha-Godzillas until the next decade or so.
4. Mothra needs a rest. I like her but the formula of overusing her is starting to become cliche.
5. Bring back one-timers.
That's about it.

Re: What should be done for future films?
I know this may be a bad example but I would like to see fights that are more bloody like GRA. Also think KWC, a little gory and really show the damage and ferocity I'n a monster fight. Like when Godzilla bites someone, don't just have a little bloodshed, have em tear of a chunk of skin. They have done an ok job so far but still, it could be better
