Millennium Godzilla film favorites from greatest to least!

Post by Godzilla6014 »

Okay a saw a trilogy of threads on Kajiuphile about this I thought I’d still the idea and bring it here. Alright, unlike previous threads will be taking on era and choosing are favorites to least favorites. Please do respect not just mine but, everyone else’s opinion’s on here. Don’t be trolling or flaming. If you want to do that then, leave no sense having that hogwash. Otherwise “I’ll kill you.” Hahahaaahhhahahamaahahahahahahahaahahah! Oh sorry ah back on topic. So, here I go. One more thing you can either explain why you feel the way you do on these movies or you don’t have to.
1. Godzilla: Tokyo S.O.S
2. Godzilla against Mechagodzilla
3. Godzilla 2000: Millennium
4. Godzilla vs. Megaguirus
5. Godzilla, Mothra and King Ghidorah: Giant Monsters All-Out Attack
6. Godzilla: Final Wars

GFW
GMK
G2K
Megaguirus
Mechagodzilla

Haven't seen SOS so I can't comment on it. Also Megaguirus and xMG are IMO among bottom barrel of the whole franchise.

1. Godzilla Against Mechagodzilla
Has a cool looking Godzilla, a great Mechagodzilla, a fresh anime-style feel to it, amazing music, characters I actually care for, and pretty good cinematography and production values! I don't get why people find it boring; I find it engaging. Makes my top 3 of the franchise.

2. GMK
It's as awesome as everyone says it is. Godzilla is given the social commentary treatment once again and the results are amazing. The characters are interesting and the action is explosive. Kaneko knows his shit.

3. Godzilla Final Wars
Not as bad as people make it out to be. It's brainless fun, and I didn't expect or really want it to be profound brain food or anything. It's just riddled with great F*CK YEAH! moments, even if there's some bad acting and writing in between.

4. Godzilla vs. Megaguirus
This one is pretty fun and entertaining. It's sort of like Godzilla vs. Gigan: not a critically good movie by any means, but very enjoyable. At least it's not boring. I'd rather watch a movie like this one where it's entertaining with some flaws than a borefest like Godzilla vs. Destoroyah.

5. Godzilla: Tokyo S.O.S.
It was just like the previous movie, except with a less interesting story, characters I don't care for, the addition of an overused monster, and a long dragged out fight scene. They could do worse, but this one left me yawning.

6. Godzilla 2000
I haven't seen it in a long time, and I probably won't see it again until the original Japanese version is released here on DVD. Seriously, I can't stand dubs. I tolerated them as a kid, but my recent teenager bitchiness has kicked in and now I can't sit through a dubbed movie. From what I remember though, this movie was a little on the weak side.

Millennium films, from favorite to least favorite...

1) Godzilla 2000
2) GMK
3) Godzilla: Tokyo S.O.S.
4) Godzilla Vs. Megaguirus
5) GFW
6) Godzilla Against Mechagodzilla

The gap between "S.O.S." and "Vs. Megaguirus" is very wide here. I don't find Vs. Megaguirus to be very engaging, but it's watchable at least. I can watch some parts of GFW (mostly the monster fights), but never the whole thing. Against Mechagodzilla, even less. It's just so incredibly boring. I can barely remember what happens in that movie.

1. GMK
2. Tokyo SOS
3. G2K
4. GXMG
5. G:FW
6. GvMegaguirus

And as bad as Final Wars and Megaguirus may be, I still like them. Despite their flaws, those two continue to be massively entertaining.

I already ranked my top three in a different thread:

1.) GMK
2.) Godzilla 2000
3.) Godzilla vs. Megaguirus

None of the other three are movies that I can honestly say I like or feel engaged with at all, so ranking them is pretty meaningless.
Tokyo, a smoldering memorial to the unknown, an unknown which at this very moment still prevails and could at any time lash out with its terrible destruction anywhere else in the world.

This should be pretty easy:

1. GMK (The best and my favorite, go hand-in-hand)
2. Godzilla Tokyo SOS (nice popcorn flick, appeals to me in the same way Godzilla vs. Gigan does)
3. Godzilla Against Mechagodzilla (middle of the road picture with an awesome soundtrack)
4. Godzilla vs. Megaguirus (meh)
5. Godzilla 2000: Millennium (very slow movie, especially the Japanese cut)
6. Godzilla Final Wars (double meh)
If it bites... don't mess with it!

1. Final Wars
2. GAM
3. S.O.S
4. GMK
5. G2K
6. Megaguirus

This is tricky.
GMK
Godzilla 2000
Godzilla Final Wars
Tokyo SOS
Godzilla x Megagiurus
Godzilla x Mechagodzilla
I don't hate any of these films. I like them all the same. But this is my list. Most outstanding to generic.
