GMK owns this one for me. Fucking owns it.
Tokyo, a smoldering memorial to the unknown, an unknown which at this very moment still prevails and could at any time lash out with its terrible destruction anywhere else in the world.

Final Wars easily, a look back on every version of Godzilla with the years quickly showing up on screen just nails it for me.

GMK had the best opening, in my opinion. I also like the G2000 and GFW title sequences.

The Final Wars sequence feels more like a music video than an organic part of the movie. But, then, nothing in that movie feels organic to me, so maybe it fits by not fitting, if you take my meaning?

GMK by far. What a commanding and energy inducing intro. The Final Wars one isn't bad, but like eabaker I feel like it belongs more as a music video or separate homage divorced from the film.
If it bites... don't mess with it!

I wouldn't have cheered. The music kills it.Legion1979 wrote:I remember when Tokyo SOS was screened at G-Fest in 2004. The crowd wend absolutely wild during the main title sequence. I can't think of any other Millennium film that comes close to it.
Another vote for GMK.

I felt it was a nice throwback to the Showa films, especially Ghidorah, the Three-Headed Monster.

GMK then Final Wars for me. The GMK one always gets my heart pounding and thumping. But over the years Final Wars opening theme and well it in general has lost appeal to me.
