Mushroom cloud

Postby Godzilla165 » Tue Jul 10, 2012 7:32 am

I just thought of a theory on how Godzilla was able to make that mushroom cloud in GMK. When he charged up his ray and was ready to fire, instead firing a normal continuous beam, he shot a fire ball. Like in the games where you can shoot out a single ball of radiation when using any Godzilla. This would explain how he made the mushroom cloud because if he fired a normal beam, then he would have just sweeped across the area and would have only made small explosions if he hit any cars, and would not have made a mushroom cloud visible by the teacher and kids. So how does that sound?

1. You can make a mushroom cloud if you have enough TNT or any other explosives for that matter.

2. It's just meant to be symbolism about Godzilla's H-bomb fallout origins since Kananko is very anti-war and the first film was anti-nukes and Godzilla is pretty much war, death and nukes incarnate in the more serious films.

3. Godzilla doesn't have a fireball, it's just something Atari added because they ran out of ideas for his move set in the games.

I hope this clears up some shit.

I love that moment. It just cuts away, then you see that and you think; "F**k, how powerful IS he?"

That wasn't a fire ball. =/

He just fired a quick burst of his atomic stream. He basically fired in between opening and closing his mouth real quick.

Its closet enough to be considered a fireball. Plasma ball would be the best description, though.

I think a gust of wind or cloud would be a pretty description.

A super hot plasma cloud.

You would think if he actually nuked a city there, someone would have at least casually mentioned it at some other point in the movie. But instead there's no real explanation other than the school teacher's remark, leaving everyone to scratch their heads.

I guess it would depend on you're definition of a nuke.

Did he expose the area to radiation and cause a big explosion at the same time? Yes.

Did he make a blast that was large enough to be on par with a nuclear blast? No.

The blast was big, and powerful as the shock wave knocked people out of their chairs miles away and they could see they were blinded by the light and the area is undoubtedly contaminated by a huge does of radiation since Godzilla charged up a lot before firing. But it probably didn't destroy the whole city he was in.

Oh make no mistake, a huge chunk of that city is probably leveled though.

I always kinda thought that this was due to him being supercharged from the sub, and if i'm not mistaken it was the 1st time he had used his nuclear blast after the sub incident

This Godzilla normally doesn't possess that much power. He achieved that much power only after draining a nuclear submarine dry. GMK Godzilla's Atomic Breath was normally not that powerful.
