I like that Mechagodzilla.

Honestly Tyler I would have been okay with Heisei Mecahgodzilla having a "tnaky" design like this cause his role in that film was pretty much nothing but a two legged tank. The poster design certainly fits him better then 74/74 Mechagodzilla or Kiryu that's for sure. I wonder if this is where they came up with the idea for that Power Up Mechagodzilla toy.

Recently seeing the episode of LAW & ORDER:SVU episode "Bang", in which a sleezball ended up meeting his end courtesey of a WASP Knife(http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Sa_NC-_fvKs,http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Wasp_knife ). The Wasp Knife is the name of a weapon that in the hilt contains a large amount of compressed CO2 in a cylinder, and injects the contents of said cylinder into wound inflicted by the blade. Used by divers to defend themselves from aggressive sharks. On top of the wound inflicted by the rapid expansion of the gas which displaces organs, the compressed CO2 freezes the area in which the wound was inflicted. So to prevent bleeding which could incite other sharks in the area to frenzy. Also, said shark, bouyed by the gas, would float to the surface.

The first Mechagodzilla, in Round Two with the Big-G and King Seesar, used a bunch of darts/harpoons on Godzilla. I thought the darts should've had a time delayed reaction after impact, explosive charge set to go off seconds after impact, thus inflicting more damgae after lodging in Godzilla's hide. Likewise, some WASP rounds, injecting a rather huge amount of CO2 into Godzilla. On top of the explosive reactions shown in the video. The CO2's freezing effect would've frozen the rather large, gapping wounds. Slowing down the Big-G's regeneration, making him vulnernable to further hits, and the possible pain making him nurse the injuries, making him a little more leary to strike back. But tenacious so and so Godzilla is, unless the wounds were inflicted on his legs, or some spot that impedes his movement, or cripples him long enough to launch another attack, Mechagodzilla/Kiryu better prepare for some major blowback from a P.O.ed Godzilla. Special WASP rounds, like the tranq darts in the UNGCC MechaG could be added, along Kiryu's arsenal. Or else, as in the first Kiryu flick, GODZILLA AGAINST MECHAGODZILLA Kiryu utilized a retractable blade which emrged from the mecha's left wrist, and like a Taser, delivered a nasty charge into Big-G. Perhaps a later, model of Kiryu, could utilize a WASP version of this close quarters weapon. Which would inflict, a bigger, nastier wound on Godzilla.

1st one looks bad, 2nd one is great!!! Okay, maybe it is good, but the second one would've been a good Godzilla opponent. It will probably be the first cyborg too

Recently I saw a mockumentary on Animal Planet entitled MERMAIDS:The Body Found(http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=cgzRv4_HJIY), in which a NOAA team investigated a mass whale beaching on the Washington State Coast. As some may know, the U.S. Navy's newer, updated sonar systems has been known to screw up a whale's, or dolphin's ability to echolocate with their own personal sonar. Thus causing them to end up beaching themselves trying to get away from the sonar, and with their echolaction broadcast, recieving ability disrupted the whales end up beaching themselves. It was insinuated when the remains of the whales were studied theeir brains, and tissues around the ears, were destroyed. Moreso than with the Navy's usual sonar pollution. And when the bodies of something else, not a dolphin, or whale was found at the beaching sites, but quickly collected by the U.S. Navy ,and hurried off to some undisclosed location(Red Lobster perhaps ?!?). Suggesting it might've not been an accidental byproduct of sonar testing, but something intended to be deadly against a particular target.
After watching the special, and recently rewatching Terror of Mechagodzilla, in which Dr. Mafune's and Simeons' control of Titanosaurus was severed due to accidently discovering a particular sonar, super sonic frequincy was capable of causing some major pain to the dinosaur, perhaps even injuring him, or the very least leaving Titanosaurus dazed and confused enough to be noneffectional in combat. I was thinking, as it was mentioned, in another thread, in GODZILLA Vs. MECHAGODZILLA II's manga adaptation, the robot was designed, and I think from what I've read. Capable of being deployed and function under water. As we saw in the Kiryu Saga, the bio-robot seemed to have some ability to function water, which it should due to the fact along with Godzilla, Kamoebas, and other daikaiju, many of them are amphibious. But anywho, howsabout equipping Mechagodzilla/Kiryu, or even an updated Super-X II with it amphibious features, with a sonar weapon, capable of using concentrated sound. Which the water makes an excellent conductor for, as weapon. On top of screwing up the Big-G's own sonar (which was mentioned by the Soviet sub tracking him in G-85, before Godzilla did them in), the blast would also scramble Godzilla his brains as well. Driving him away, or really hacking him off. But like the method of destroying kidney stones with ultrasonics without cutting into the patient, it could do some considerable damage to him. Leaving him hurt, or even dazed in a state like drunkeness. Leaving him vulnerable to other attacks before his regeneration can complete repairs.

I love Heisei MG's design, but I sometimes wish that the poster design was the one in the film It jsut looks so menacing and deadly, and is a perfect hybrid between Showa and Heisei designs. But I guess since MG was meant to be a neutral force, which we would both root against and for through the course of the film (for him till Godzilla loses his brain, and against during the Spiral Ray reveal), I think a neutral looking design ultimately worked best.

Just out of being curious am i the only one that thinks Mecha-Godzilla should always be created by Alien's... Even if LP ends up somehow making a MG in there film i don't see how they would have the money or technology to stop such a force like Godzilla... Wound him maybe, cause him to retreat possibly but kill him like done in the 90's series...

It worked in the Original because there was unknown limits an powers to the Mecha-Godzilla, it was something not even Godzilla was used to which is why he got his ass handed to him the first battle an most of the entire second.

Even in the 2000 era, if Japan had all this equipment an technology available to them to built such a machine why just do that, there would be 100's of other ways to sub-due Godzilla or create something to keep him from even entering Japan.. I know of course there'd be know fun an these are just movies... But to me Mecha-Godzilla only works as an Alien creation otherwise it should hardly even hold his own against Godzilla period.

Technology had grown in leaps since the first MG film came out. Building a giant robot may seem impracticle, but is it anymore so than building an orbital gun that launches blackholes? Godzilla is an extreme danger. They know by now that planes, ships, and ground weapons pose little effect against Godzilla. To combat an extreme danger required an extreme response.
