For discussion of Toho produced and distributed films or shows released from 1980 up to 1998 (includes Gamera 3)

I just read the article this morning (0545 hrs Japan Time...before I headed off to Squadron PT). I noticed the release date, but I didn't see the date this article was published...

Check the url for the article and you'll see the August 14 release date for MEGALON was announced on March 22.

As for stating something "for a fact", I can't 100% say that MEGALON will be released that day because I have no control over that. I can say that the release date was sent to me by a producer at Media Blasters who is in charge of that DVD so its official information, and that's the date Media Blasters has solicited to retailers. On SciFi Japan we don't post rumors and guesses but instead share info we get directly from the studios and distributors... that way our readers can get the most accurate info possible.

@ Goji: Thanks for the kind words!

Alright then, I'll buy that. Honestly, I've been looking forward to that version for almost 30 years. I also learned this was going to be a 'bare-bones' release. That's fine with me; as long as I get to watch it before Christmas. But honestly, thank you for putting up with difficult people like me. We are a hard case to deal with, but at least I can put my doubts aside this time.
