Does it count as suicide if the element which is supposed to kill you, fails to kill you? It was more of a trap if anything.

It's not even an attempted suicide. If it was, Godzilla would have had to willingly walk into the volcano, with the purpose of ending his own life. Not only would that had made no sense because it's uncharacteristic of a monster like Godzilla, he's clearly able to survive the extreme temperatures, so it wouldn't have killed him anyway.

They didn't know that^

I always saw it as Godzilla just walking right in there, without a care in the world, like he didn't give a shit, he could have walked away, but he did not! I always saw it as attempt.

^Actually, the ground gave way due to his weight. So he didn't walk right in. To me, he was lured there, stopped at the foot of the volcano and was like 'Wait, this isn't right, where are the birds?'.

^ you ARE very correct....

But I think Godzilla should have had enough time to put 2 and 2 together and high tail it the hell away!

^ Only if he thought he was actually in danger. This is Godzilla, after all; a volcano may not be too intimidating to him.

I used to own an old Godzilla game and one of the obsticles was a volcano, you couldn't pass it unless you jumped up and kicked the top of it......
