I feel like a post farmer right now so I'm going to consult people who've actually seen these movies before I post further. But here's Desghidorah.
I don't think I saw the same movies as the rest of you.
I'll always miss Vega.

I don't know if this was expressly confirmed or denied at all, but from watching this film I always felt that DesGhidorah seemed to be a juvinile of sorts. A few visual and behavioral cues here and there and the way his three snouts look just scream 'child' to me...

Biollante is often considered to be Kawakita's finest creation, but Death Ghidorah is a strong contender. He's the visual high-point of Rebirth of Mothra and my personal favorite "Alternate" Ghidorah design. He's a great looking brute and I wouldn't mind him coming back in some capacity.

Actually, I like Desghidorah. I think the design was good and it was nicely detailed. It was a stiff suit which dampens its appeal, but otherwise it was a solid effort.

He's pretty cool. It's like Ghidorah went goth or something. Very evil looking.

My second favourite Ghidorah, after the original Showa King Ghidorah himself.

I came to praise the great Desghidorah, so I'll ignore the comment that was just posted before me.

Dude, I was saying I liked him and that he was one of the very few good things to come out of the RoM trilogy.

And I like RoM. Glad we understand each other

Remember ladies and gentlemen, an exchange and discussion of opinions is a positive and healthy learning experience.

I encourage it, but in the appropriate thread.

One of my favorite Toho beasts of all time. His roar is so unique, just wish I could find a good quality mp3 of it.

Easly my favorite incarnation of the 3 headed monster, other than Heisei KG and it's variants. I kinda wished he had more powerful offensive abilities than just being a damage sponge (a good one at that).

His pryroad earthquake thingy could be pretty disastrous against a Kaiju that doesn't fly.

Yeah but everything else is pretty lackluster.

Really loved Des/Death Ghidorah's design. Too bad he only fought Mothra and not Godzilla that might have been a cool battle.

I love the design for DesGhidorah/DeathGhidorah, however for a wicked looking monster, he sure had an annoying roar.

I didn't care for Desghidorah much at first... but after Keizer Ghidorah, who felt like a rather rushed composite of elements from Desghidorah and King Ghidorah, certainly came to admire him more and the design choices they went with. The name is certainly somewhat of a lazy cash in, but the result looks visually pleasing and some of the powers, especially when its splits the ground and a pyre opens, are impressive looking.
If it bites... don't mess with it!

Desghidorah's a very unique creature. Easily my favorite alternate Ghidorah (considering it's the only good one).

Question concerning Desghidorah

Postby Lord Gappa » Sat Feb 18, 2012 3:59 pm

Okay, so I was in the Desghidorah discussion thread, and after looking at his picture, he reminded me of another creature, but I forgot it's name. After a quick search on Google, I found it; the Tricephalon Monster, part of an old Godzilla playset back in 1978. Both have strikingly similar designs and besides the origin and powers, are kind of like twins.

So here's my question; did Toho take inspiration from the Tricephalon Monster for Desghidorah?

EDIT: Here's a picture for reference.
