This MG is adequate. The machine was good as a mobile weapons platform, but uninteresting as a MG.

They did build him from Mecha-King Ghidorah.

All the movie indicated was that they studied what made MKG functional, and I seriously doubt there was enough usable metal left to build something like MechaG after being blasted repeatedly and left to rust under the ocean for a year. So between the amount of metal used in the creation process, the artificial diamond coating, the amount of electricity used to make the thing function, the amount of fuel it would need to make it flight worthy and keep said flight sustained, and whatever the hell else it needed for it's fancy weapon systems, the planet as a whole should have been thrown into deep, hard bankruptcy, cause with all the previous monster attacks, there's no way in hell this Earth was doing financially well to begin with. And it was all for naught, all cuz they didn't factor in the existence of other monsters. *buries face in palms* The government officials in these movies are just as incompetent here as they are in real life, if not more.

I'm sorry, but the idea of a human-made MechaG is just too ridiculous. Should've just stuck with the Super-X program.

We don't know the extent to which Futurian technology had on the global economy. Infact, it's probably what made Japan into a economic superpower capable of buying chunks of South America to begin with. The presence of Futurian technology also creates a nice little cover story for "Why does everyone stay in Japan with yearly visits from a malevolent atomic powered death machine?" and "How can they rebuild so quickly?" It's probably my favorite part of the Heisei canon.

Mechagodzilla would have been aided by having a more rickety and less "clean" design. It looks even more high-tech the Mecha-King Ghidorah, which is just backwards.

That's something that always bugged me about anti-kaiju armies. They always make their weapons specifically to fight Godzilla and almost never other monsters. I know Godzilla attacks the most often and was the first monster to show up, the one that has plaguad them the longest but god damn it there are far more worse monsters out there that they should focus on killing first, monsters capable of destroying an entire planet's biosphere.

There's a cut scene from Godzilla vs. Mechagodzilla of Mechagodzilla battling King Ghidorah, Godzilla, and Mothra in a combat simulation. It was really cool and really weird looking and it's a shame they didn't keep it in.

It figures. The one shred of competency displayed in the Heisei continuity and it ends up being cut. Another question, how the hell were they able to tell if Garuda would have been ineffectual against Godzilla? It would have been nice to see the two go mano-eh-mano instead of basically 'Eh, it was intended to fight Godzilla, but we chickened out last minute, pulled funding just as it was finished being built, and decided to place our bets on rusting technology. Smartest decision we've made yet *nods like a boss*. Oh yeah, techie, you're being placed on the front line.' I mean WTF?!

And link, please.

This is a good point.

And really, it's not like MG's the biggest stretch of imagination when it comes to Japan's military forces in the Godzilla films. As mentioned, rebuilding the same town yearly is pretty expensive in itself, even ignoring everything else - especially looking back at the Showa timeline, where it took beatings in more than twenty films.

Also I too would love to see such a deleted scene

So I half lied. It's not Mechagodzilla, just Garuda. And there's no King Ghidorah, it's Rodan.

Also the blonde haired chick says "Boogy" instead of "Bogey". I laughed.

:| If you're talking about when Godzilla, Mothra, and Rodan are all on screen together, that's not GvsMGII footage. That's Monster Planet of Godzilla footage, and that flying vehicle is Earth.

I think Heisei MG is awesome. He's one of the only cold, emotionless killing machines in the G-franchise, and his lack of melee skill serves to show that he's not unstoppable and oevrpowered, and it does prove to be his downfall various times. I like a monster with pros and cons that are actually reflected and well-identified in the movie itself. His design is suitably cold and neutral too, with a simplistic metal sheen, no overly pointed edges, enhancing his 'personality' (or lack thereof).

Heisei Mechagodzilla is just really cool. He lacks the "character" thing Kiryu had going on, and he may not be the same level of badass as Showa MechaG, but he's arguably the most powerful Mechagodzilla incarnation thus far. His head, which some have complained has some sort of duck-face going on, actually looks IMO appropiate and kind of looks like Godzilla's head. In fact, most of his body is just Heisei Godzilla's covered in tin foil, but seeing how it IS a doppleganger of Goji, it's actualy appropiate. The only complaint i have is the tail, which looks just like Barney's except in metal form. Overall, Heisei Mechagodzilla is a unique powerhouse amongst powerhouses in the Heisei Era.

This Mechagodzilla is probably my #1 favorite MG overall. Not just because of the movie he was in, but rather, what game he was in.

See, my first real introduction to Godzilla was the Atari game, GDAMM. And as you should know, MechaG '93 was the final boss, and a tough one at that. I remember being so frustrated that I couldnt beat him, but that was part of his appeal; he kicked ass and looked good doing it! Who could forget the infamous fist pound in his intro? You just knew he was a boss.

And it was a while before I ever saw the Kiryu movies, or the Showa MG ones, so for the longest time, he was the one and only Mechagodzilla to me.

And I do enjoy his movie appearance too. I would've liked more close combat, but hey, he's a tough foe and hes got a sweet design. I like his cold, emotionless face, and if I ever wanna change how he acts and fights, I have the video games and my Bandai figure to use in movies, lol.

So yeah, I love MechaG '93.

This is probably my least favorite Mechagodzilla. Doesn't look as cool as Kiryu or the Showa version, and it lacks personality (which I guess is appropriate for the context of the film).

Also, he just has that dopey look on his face...
