I still wonder what Heisei Kong would have look like? I always think Heisei Kong would have been a mixed between KKvsG Kong and the 70's Kong.

Good point, and at least in America King Kong would be a big box office draw I think.

Voted Gigan, second choice would have been Ang. And I'm glad that everyone else pretty much agrees. Shows that it's what Toho shoulda done.

Just because the Angilas concept art looks cool it doesn't necessarily mean the finished suit would have looked anything like that. And that goes for the Kaneko versions too.

I think that judging by the first image, it looks like Anguirus was planned to be a skeletal monster at first. Of course the image is blurry, but it has that feel to it.

The first image is for a Bug monster, not Anguirus.

I picked Gorosaurus out of sheer curiousity of how he would have looked and acted and what powers he might have gotten

How do you figure? Mechagodzilla is easy enough to make a hero, just change his pilots. But how would you make Gigan of all kaiju a good guy? King Ghidorah wasn't a good guy. SpaceGodzilla and Destoroyah weren't good guys.

GMK was the only movie where Ghidorah was a good guy

Anguirus should've been in the Heisei Series as well. I had read in an old issue of G-FAN during a look back at the Big-G's first kaiju opponent, that he was rumored to show up early on in the King Kong Vs. Godzilla remake. Which would've made sense, and been appropos, seeing that Kong and Anguirus were Godzilla's first monster foes.

The one I voted for that I thought could've been easily written into the Heisei Series' continuity was Titanosaurus. The idea occured to me after reading Steve Alten's The Trench. Basically, I was of the thought that maybe there was a colony of Titanosaurs that survived the end of dinosaurs, by living at the bottom of an ecosystem at the bottom of the Mariana Trench. But due to the meteorrite that struck the ocean in Godzilla & Mothra:The Battle For Earth, and the storms and quakes it caused post impact, the currents it cuased swepted out a few Titanosaurs. The beasts survived, and surprisingly thrived. Thanks in part to the more plentiful supplies of food, and the richer levels of oxygen in the water at the higher depths, these Titanosaurs grew to sizes greater than their trench enclosed breatren. Equal to that of the Big-G. Unfortunately, these Titanos, wandered into Godzilla's territory, and he didn't appreciate them in the least. He wiped them out, except for one, the big bull Titanosaur that was not in the area when Godzilla took out the potential competition. And now he has new enemy, one who won't go down anywhere as easily as his brothers and sisters did.

I voted for Gorosaurus because I could imagine him having a role like Rodan Hesei in a film. They had a Godzillasaurus, I don't think Gorosaurus would have been very hard to design. My second pick would be Anguirus, who could be armored up and given some pounds to look like a lumbering dino. His sonic roar from the games could have been used as well. my third pick would be Megalon. After reading what was said earlier in the topic about a Hesei Megalon, I couldn't agree more. Maybe in the Hesei series Megalon could have restored his image after his first appearence.

Gorosaurus is awesome..but he's entirely too bland to have been in the Heisei era. He just wouldn't really have fit. You have to remember, Goro's role in KING KONG ESCAPES was simply a homage to the T-Rex from KING KONG (1933), he wasn't necessarily ever meant to be become a Toho staple character. His suit was then only used so prominently in DAM because it was in such great shape.

Anguirus' absence always seemed kind of odd to me. He became such a fixture in the Showa movies after DAM, that I just felt he ought to have crawled out of some back corner of the Heisei universe.

Don't like that winged carapace design up above, though.

Titanosaurus seems like the perfect design for a Heisei kaiju. Add a sonic beam, and he's practically Heisei.

Turning one of the most charming and well characterized kaiju (in both his Showa and Millennium incarnations) into a Defense Forces battle drone is flat out lame.
