Favorite Heisei monster...uh...did I like any of them? Battra, I guess.
My favorite film from this era is certainly Gojira 1984. Everything became convoluted after that.

RETURN OF GODZILLA is my favorite (G' 85 was my first G film), but I feel that BIOLLANTE is the slightly better film.
Biollante is my favorite Heisei monster, by a wiiiide margin. My favorite monster since the 60's, and easily one of my favorite Toho critters. The Battra larva was pretty nifty looking as well. Didn't really care for any of the redesigned monsters (the adult "plush toy" Mothra was the biggest offender)

I'll gladly eat crow if it doesn't turn out that way....but at this point it feels painfully obvious, as it has for months.

Monster: Godzilla
Plain and simple. Biollante was cool, but I felt they perfected the Godzilla design and feel during this series.
Movie: Godzilla vs. Biollante
For more reasons than I can count, but I will admit nostalgia plays a large part in it too.

Godzilla vs. Biollante (1989) along with both Biollante forms.

Re: Which was your favorite Movie and Monster?
Agreed entirely. Final Form Biollante is just this massive thing that moves FAR faster than it looks like it should, and just looks like a complete juggernaut. What I like about her the most, though, is her mortality. For all of her power, she's a frail thing. I enjoy checks-and-balances in my kaiju.Goji wrote:Biollante is my favorite Heisei monster, by a wiiiide margin. My favorite monster since the 60's, and easily one of my favorite Toho critters. Battra Larva was also awesome. He just looks bad ass.

My favorite Heisei movie would be GvM in a personal sense. I just loved the action despite the human "drama" and I love how Godzilla gets beaten, yet comes back even stronger to annihilate Mechagodzilla and claim his "son". To this day it remains to be one of the most satisfying Godzilla movie endings for me. My favorite Heisei monster on the other hand would probably be Spacegodzilla, but Destroyah and MG follow very closely.

By far my favorite movie was Goji v. Destaroyah, but I'm not sure about my favorite monster. Gojira was pretty cool, but I really liked Battra too. Biolantte was pretty cool, and Destoroyah stuck to me... The look for MKG was pretty cool to though.
Never really got into Gamera or the Rebirth of mothra movies, but I do like Dagarah.

movie: Godzilla vs. Mechagodzilla II
monster: Biollante
I haven't watched the first two Heisei movies in a while, though, and I've never seen them in Japanese. That could change my opinion.

Re: Which was your favorite Heisei Movie and Monster?
Seeing as there are a few different series going here:
Favorite Goji movie is GvsDestoroyah. Though Godzilla vs. Biollante is practically tied with it.
Favorite Rebirth of Mothra movie: the first one, though the third one is still pretty decent.
The Gamera trilogy is really just excellent all around, but my favorite is Gamera 3.
For monsters, the leads (Godzilla, Gamera, and Mothra) are all great, but if we're speaking about other monsters, then they would be Biollante/Destoroyah, Legion, and Desghidorah.

Re: Which was your favorite Heisei Movie and Monster?
Kaiju: Mobile Operation Godzilla Universal Expert Robot Aero-Type, I've always loved the design and mysteriousness that was protrayed by the Showa Mogera, and this newer remake was just awesome, especially it's three main pilots.
Movie: Godzilla vs. Spacegodzilla. Hell its my all-time favorite Goji flick. I love the kaiju, absolutely love the characters (Sato, Koji, and Yuki all rocked and had great chemistry throughout the film imo.) the biggest part would be the nostalgia though, I've seen the film over 30 times now and it was my favorite Goji film since I was around 9 years old.

Godzilla wise:
Favorite Movie: Gvs.Biollante/G vs. Destroyer tie
Favorite Monster: Destroyer. Biollante is the greater achievement but Dessy looks cooler.
Gamera Wise:
Movie: G3
Kaiju: Legion (that is including the flower and the symbiotic Legions)

Destoroyah looks cooler than final form Biollante? Ehh...I wouldn't go that far.
