Unnecasary atomic breath?

Post by Beef Bigshot »

So I'n Godzilla vs mothra: battle for earth, when Godzilla appears, he shoots out his atomic breath before rising from the water. I'm not sure why he would waste the energy to do that. What you guys opinion!

It's called dramatization. ;-) I don't think there's any logical in-universe explanation for it.

We could always assume he doesn't have complete control over his atomic breaths or that he needed to vent pent up energy inside his body or a "fear factor" tactic.

Not exactly. It's sort of like a burp, a force which you really can't control forcing its way up. It will force its way out in the form of an Atomic Breath instead of his body collapsing down and melting down from the with held energy.

He may be the Shreeonkin KING OF THE MONSTERS, but he can't always talk the talk, so he has to walk the walk by letting a few off here and there.

In Godzilla vs King ghidorah, I don't understand why Godzilla would waste his atomic breath on one human being.
I calculated the odds of this succeeding vs the odds I was doing something incredibly stupid, and I went ahead and did it anyways.

Anyway... I remember that moment... THAT :eh: Moment when I saw Godzilla fire his breath for the first time in Godzilla vs Mothra. Since it was a bootleg VHS back in 1993 I thought there MUST be something wrong with the audio because it had that crappy added sound. Especially after how awesome his breath was in G vs KG, I thought surely they wouldn't screw up and change it... How sad I was years later when I got the US VHS in 1998 and found out that Truly WAS the way it sounded.

Q: Will we see that monster that Bryan was going to reveal this morning at the press conference?
Cranston: Oh yeah! The only Godzilla movie with an X-rating.

Right, like how the fact that humans don't have complete control over our bowels means that we're constantly exploding with feces.
Tokyo, a smoldering memorial to the unknown, an unknown which at this very moment still prevails and could at any time lash out with its terrible destruction anywhere else in the world.

It was simply for drama and effect, like the glowing and boiling water in Gojira.

I really don't think there could be any explanation that fits into the realm of the movie, but in reality it's probably to give him a cool entrance.
