Whether the April Fools' gags of old, or the fact that the "two endings to KKvsG" STILL isn't fully eradicated, people have gone to great lengths to pull a fast one on us before. So yeah, I pulled the "FAKER" card based on what I observed and what I know. Maybe it's a little quick to base it off what I did, but I prefer to base my knowledge on facts than on grasping at a "MAYBE???"
Fair enough. Sorry if I sounded harsh in my post. I didn't intend to!

I asked Brett Homenick to take a look at it and see if he could determine if it's real or a fake. Here's what he said:
Brett wrote:I glanced through the script, and it jibes with everything I remember. In fact, it reminded me of a few details I'd forgotten. My verdict? I'd be very surprised if Stout says this ain't the real deal.

Alright, I got a reply from Stout himself and this is what he had to say:
Yup; it appears to be the same script from which I was designing the film. Great screenplay by Fred!
I guess this confirms that this script is the real deal.

Why? That wouldn't have changed anything at the time.

Thanks for getting that confirmation, Megalon-5.
I suppose you're right. It just seemed you were pretty quick to reject the script as a fake, whereas a brief skimming of the document suggested it was legit, which now seems to be the case. I'm one to talk, though, since I was just as quick to declare it legitimate. :P

Okay, I read it, and now that it's been confirmed, this is the perfect time to say my thoughts on it.
G84, Godzilla Vs Biollante, the cancelled G94, and GINO have various elements from this; G84 and GINO in particular. The Dragon Missiles were a lot like the cadmium shells, the KGB spy was a lot like the Saradinian agent, G94 was to take place in San Francisco, G94 and GINO had scenes where fishing boats netted Godzilla and got pulled, and the baby Godzilla was a lot like.....I know it was supposed to be like Minilla, but the bit where Godzilla finds the baby dead and strokes it before going into a rage was like GINO.

Heck, Toho sure didn't mind cherry picking the script for ideas when it came to making The Return of Godzilla/GODZILLA 1985. The nuclear satellite. The sub attack. The missiles with the capacity to neutralize Godzilla's own radiation. It sounded like it would've been a fun romp. Too bad the price tag(Thirty million dollars !) for the bugger scared off the studios.

Sometimes I wonder if, William Stout's take on the Big-G, would've got some use if Steve Miner's co-writer on the script, Fred Dekker, had found some more immediate success with his fan favorite, The Monster Squad. In one interview with Dekker awhile back, he said if the flick had been a success. His plans for the sequel would've been The Monster Squad Vs. Godzilla basically. Involving the Squad dealing with a daikaiju sized sea monster.
"All literature is one of three stories: a man goes on a journey, a stranger comes to town, and Godzilla Vs. Megashark. "-Leo Tolstoy.

^Toho brought this film's elements and showed how to use them in a much more to-be superior film. With that type of budget, maybe they wanted to film action scenes on set AND in miniatures too, same situation with Godzilla VS The Gryphon.
