It's understandable that he could never live up to so much hype, just from Super Godzilla alone. I like his look, but I really just can't see it getting done. But anything could work if they did it right that is. They could change different aspects about him such as origin and make it a more believable scenario... otherwise it would be a ridiculous "end of the universe villain" like Darkseid on Smallville who just gets beaten for no apparent reason.

That could possibly be made into a comic series. I could imagine Bagan being more like an anti-hero than an actual villian, like he would fight Godzilla and the defense force, but later would fight King Ghidorah or Gigan.

Also found some interesting Bagan artwork:

I could see Totem Bagan being a smaller, weaker Bagan, and the SNES Bagan being a super form.

I'd actually vouch for this over a movie. The same thing was actually done for the Heisei Gamera series. Barugon was considered for Gamera: Guardian of the Universe, but was dropped in favor Gyaos.

But a Heisei incarnation of Barugon was created and featured in a Japan-only manga release titled Gamera vs. Balgon (Barugon's name was misinterpreted, IIRC). It'd be awesome to see Bagan get the same treatment. It would at least give him one more opportunity in the spotlight.

That's his flying form. His swimming form is the shark-like one. I, myself, would prefer Totem Bagan as well as anyone would with the Bagan most of us are used to.

I agree, Kiryu.

Totem Bagan would be the more interesting choice for an on screen kaiju.

The only way Bagan could work in a movie, is if the entire fanbase produced it, not Toho, otherwise I can see the film being an epic failure -_-

Why do people have so many preconcieved notions about a character that barely exists? Who the skreeonk knows if he would be good in a film or not - obviously the writing, direction and SFX would determine that, right?

Its just like how there's a preconceived notion that an American Godzilla film will fail because of one example. Considering that Bagan had as many goes as an American Godzilla film (currently), I think we should stop with all the speculation and just sit and only discussed things just as Tsuburaya or Honda's greatness or Kawakita or Kitamura's horribleness.

Is that trolling?

I don't mind the speculative talk, but I think it gets old a lot faster than other topics.

Bagan should appear in the IDW comic or the new kaiju game if they get the Toho license he could be the kaiju that doesn't make it to the movies.

Then there's always the LP Godzilla film.

If Legendary plans to use Bagan in the future, they should just give him a completely new design, not the ones that were already used in concept art (and the video game)

What would the point be? Why not just have it be a new monster?
