Just found a used copy of this for a decent price, is there any reason to keep the old single disc Rodan from Classic Media?

Well, unless you always want to have that Destroy All Monsters: Melee promo, yes. Other than that, it's not worth having whatsoever.

Although the 2002 disc is based on the same ancient video master of the U.S. version of "Rodan", I find the older disc to be noticeably better encoded than the presentation on the 2008 disc, so I've held on to mine.

Wow. I never actually watched that before so I just spun it up in my laptop. Jeez louise. Was the game any good at least?

Well, I always collect all releases no matter what. I have numerous copies of a number of kaiju films via different releases. So... If you wanna collect em, of course don't get rid of it.
