Yeah, the dialogue is relatively simplistic, and the international dub apparently corresponds to the Japanese dialogue quite well, according to TK user Proofpoochie.

Dubtitles are only a real issue on the GMK, GvsMG'93 and Tokyo SOS releases from Sony. Megaguirus and GvsMG '74 have dubbing that is fairly close to the original dialogue, so the dubtitles aren't a real issue.

That doesn't have dubtitles, but Proofpoochie should know if they're accurate.

Some of the lines are taken directly from the dub, but overall it's a decent subtitle track.
