Dude, you hardly have to hunt them down. They're right there on Amazon. Good quality, and in widescreen. Just not in Japanese.

I would do that, but my VHS player is on the fritz after I tried to play an old recorded video.

Ah. Yeah, not to mention VCRs can screw up from not being used often enough. I think it's the drive belts or something.

Hello my name is Timothy and I am 10 years old.I am Godzillas biggest fan.I saw this movie and it was the worst Godzilla movie there is.I love Godzilla but this movie was horrible.Godzilla didnt show up for like,45 miutes and it was 18 minutes afer he showed up that he fought Biollante and the fight was only 3 minutes.Next Godzilla attacked Osaka and destroyed the super-x 2 while he was destroying the city. Finally the military came up with a plan to get godzilla sleepy and they could destoy him and Biollante in evloved form interrupted and started fighting godzilla, and just as the last battle,it was 5 minutes long.2 minutes longer than the first battle.I love Godzilla in this movie but the rest is a crazy story. It ruined the Hensi series. This would have gotten another star if the title was better. It shouldnt have Biollante on the cover.Dont buy this movie. It will ruin your godzilla loving life.

And this, children, is why underage users are hated here. They're mostly dumb little shits who can't critique a film for what it is or tries to be, and instead can only focus on what they WANT it to be. XD

If I was 10 when I first saw Biollante ,I'd probably say the same thing. Hell, my big faves back then were the Showa (Except the the first two which I never seen until 2005/06 on Youtube )which were not the best exactly. But hell, they were skreeonk awesome with my young mind rolling and making them badass. I just hope they capture that charm in the reboot and have it be dark.

Going back to the subject, I'd take a double CM feature of RoG and Biollante ( The Dubs, subs and special features from the R2) and kill that 1985 film with fire please. While KOTM added to the film, 1985 just neutered it's source. My ideal LP Godzilla film will take aspects from both KOTM and Gojira ... but that's not the topic of discussion is it?

But if that's not the option, I'll take Biollante over RoG. Biollante to me is helluva more interesting than its prequel, especially with the side story of that girl ,her death and the creation of Biollante, the terrorist plot to bring Godzilla back... I wished they expanded on the claymation and did the entire film like that because the one clip of it just convinced me it would've made the film a cult following and been really cool. That's my only gripe because it was a big improvement over 1984 which was to me a pale update to the first film, not really a film I'd watch many times but decent compared what came before....

How can you kill G85 with fire?! It's American nostalgia.

It's like the equivalent of Dragonball Evolution for Godzilla. The American scenes feel disconnected from the Japanese source and more like MSTK3000 but without any humor . I wish it was a parody ,but it isn't . While Raymond Burr is great in this, he should've had a bigger role in it alongside the US in general and actually gave significance and effect to the Japanese stock footage because initially, it looks like two different films were spliced together and called it a day. It's ok , but it could've been a lot better executed. I don't mind it being released with the Japanese original, but I hope they are on both different discs so I can just ignore the 1985 version.

No..it's really not. It's not even close to shitting on the original material the way that DB Evolution did.

I think Godzilla 1985 is underrated if you ask me. The only thing that bothered me was some of the young soldier's dialouge and his acting in particular, but I thought everything else was done nicely.

G85 to me, is like the theatrical cut of Dune.

I always watch the Extended Version of Dune because it's less dull and easier to follow. I always watch RoG for the same reasons.

G85, for some reason, with its edits makes the film much more difficult to watch then RoG. The US scenes are forced in there, the editing make sme cringe and the dubbing sometimes (compared to GvsB) makes me want to vomit.

Godzilla 1985 is one of those few films I would prefer to watch with its International dub.

The complaints about the dubbing, get them I don't. Excellent the lip-syncing is, sensible the dialogue is, natural the voices sound.

I don't get it either. The dubbing is perfectly fine, and more than serviceable. I don't see what's wrong with it. Then again, wataru loves the Sandy Frank Gamera dubs more than anything, so his taste in dubbing is more than questionable.

The Omni (international) dub is a lot worse overall, but man, is it hilarious. Plus it's nice to see hear familiar voices from the 70's films, even if they don't always fit the characters.

I love the Sandy Frank dubs because of nostalgia.

Like fans of Robotech vs Macross/Mospeada and Southern Cross. While the original Japanese IS better, Robotech itself has it's own life.
