Of all the Godzilla movies getting a UHD release it had to be the one that has Gino in it Its not a bad movie, in fact it's fun and Ill be getting this even though it sure as hell isn't really Godzilla. I hope WHV will do a UHD release of Godzilla (2014)

Sony likes to tart out Godzilla 1998 whenever a few years have passed from its previous release. When I watched it on Blu-ray, I was surprised how poorly the CGI effects had aged. The animatronic effects have held up much better over the years.

It's basically the only thing they can do to exploit their catalog in anticipation of KotM that requires almost no real effort or dealing with Toho. Not surprised they went this route.

Granted if you don't like the film then a visual change won't really matter but the original 4K G98 Blu Ray REALLY improved the CGI. Apparently the effects were rendered out for the wrong film type back in 98 but they fixed it for the Blu Ray so it really does look ALOT better. Here's an interesting interview about it.
