I hope that price goes down soon. Amazon's pre-order price guarantee is great and all, but I still don't like placing a pre-order when a disc is still listed at MSRP.

Funimation has posted their first clip in anticipation of the bluray release - the good news is it looks as though the print will be textless, so all the location and character titles will be add-on options in the subtitles!

Nah. Factoring in gas to actually go and check your surrounding stores, provided they actually choose to carry this disc, you may as well order online, especially if you have Prime.

I often use brick and mortar stores for research, but sometimes for impulse buying as well. I got Warner's King Kong Blu-ray for $9.99 at a Best Buy under their Monster Mayhem label.

Something I've learned from pre-ordering all these Blu-rays for kaiju-related stuff that's come out recently: Ordering early while it's still listed at the ~$35 MSRP allows you to choose the free shipping for $35+ orders, which from the looks of it isn't revoked if the price drops. Something worth considering if you haven't got Prime

Not for movies it doesn't. And if my local Wal-Mart carried "Attack on Titan", they'll certainly carry "Shin Godzilla"...

But those location and character subtitles are part of the storytelling. Translated versions I'd be fine with, but the movie without them... that's no longer really the same movie, and it's not a choice I think should be up to the viewer.

The HK version has a few name and location titles but none of them are translated. Only the dialogue is translated.

Like I said in the other thread, Funimation's promo clips for the theatrical release didn't have the titles on them either, but the theatrical release itself still did. My guess would be that their Blu-ray will probably have them as well.

Looks like the only special feature besides the trailers is something called "Godzilla vs. The Nerds: Interview".
