Unofficial "What The Heck is That Music?" Thread

Post by NateZilla10000 »

For those kaiju soundtrack lovers who just can't figure out what a certain track is and need a little guidance.

For instance!

For the life of me, I can't figure out this track. I know it's Akira Ifukube, but I have no idea where it comes from nor what track it is.

Post away!

I would suggest Frankenstein Conquers the World.

Sounds like Frankenstein Conquers the World, don't know the name.

Definitely not Frankenstein Conquers the World. It's from The Birth of Japan. I don't know the track title but it's the piece that underscores Orochi's appearance. By the way, the sound effects in your clip are not from the original movie.

You are totally right. I just found it in a music compilation of the movie after your recommendation. Thanks man. :D

Here's one. It's Godzilla's theme before it became the theme (According to the uploader)

Any clearance on this would be appreciated!

The movie where that clip is from is Shachô to onna-tenin, or The President and the Shopgirl from 1948. However, the theme actually originated in one of Ifukube's orchestral/classical works, like many of his other famous marches and themes. More information is found here.

You know, it's stuff like this that makes TK good sometimes.
Thank you!
