What Kaiju soundtracks do you have? Favorites?

I just picked up the soundtrack to Godzilla 2014. When I heard the music originally, I was not left with much sticking in my head. Subsequent viewings have left me appreciating more and more, to the point where I finally got the soundtrack. The 1st track, Godzilla's theme, is awesome.

So I have that, plus:
Japanese import of Godzilla Tokyo SOS
Godzilla 50 anniversary soundtrack
Godzilla vs Megaguirus
Godzilla 1954-'74 collection
Godzilla 1984-'95 collection
Godzilla vs Destroyer import-(2 disc, rare)

While Ifukube is my fave, and created all those iconic and very memorable themes, I have to say Michiru Oshima did a great job with the few Millenium soundtracks she did. And Desplat did a fine job of overcoming his romantic drama background to create some good music for 2014.

I'd love to find the soundtrack to Godzilla vs Mechagodzilla 2, just to get that awesome choir music that is played when Jr is in his sanctuary, and at the end of the movie. But I'm a purist, and I like to have the hard copy. But if I can't get that a digital would be acceptable.

Final Wars OST (given to me...)

Where did you get all those? May I be so rude as to ask your age? :)

I'm 38 :D

Yeah I need some Heisei and Millennium soundtracks in my collection. Mine consists mostly of Showa soundtracks.

I got them from ebay, gemm.com and mom and pop shops from all over the world via internet. The Gamera osts are rare, scoop them if you find them especially the ones published by Daiei studios, the Toho ones and EMI are reprints but easy to come by if you just want the music.

"all of them"

Well all of them except Mothra 1961, Gorath, Frankenstein vs Baragon, The War of the Gargantuas and King Kong Escapes.

My Favorites are Godzilla Against Mechagodzilla, Godzilla vs. Biollante, The Return of Godzilla, Godzilla vs. Mechagodzilla II... heck, most of the Heisei Godzilla scores were solid.

Anyway, glad to see some more soundtrack collectors on here.

Several folks here with quite a collection! I love how some of the soundtracks have the sound effects of the monsters, was hoping that the new soundtrack would because Godzilla's new roar is great as well as the sounds of the MUTO's and I'd love to hear it all with no background noise.

The Japanese version of the Godzilla 2014 soundtrack has a sound effect track as a bonus, actually.

and I have a CD with those two Library International Godzilla audio stories with their various funky theme music.

My favorites would have to be GMK. Both the Best of compilations suite my other needs.

I own the best of '54-'75 cd and KKvG OST on vinyl. It's a neat import with a booklet built in and a poster.

I bet that thing is super rare. I'd say it could be worth money, but whenever I find things that could be worth money, I end up getting bupkiss for them.

@Vankor I'm don't plan on selling it. It's a neat double album. I was hoping it'd contain the music of the film, but it's the entire audio ripped from the Japanese version. The last side of the second LP is 95% monster roars and punch noises.

Not sure how well this will go so...
Spoiler:
all my stuff is digital downloads, nothing physical.
Anyway I think I have all the soundtracks from every Godzilla movie, even RA and a track from vs Megalon. Picking a favorite is like sifting through a mountain of gold, everything is awesome. (with a few grains of sand here and there) ;)

Favorite Godzilla Movie Soundtracks

What is your favorite Godzilla Movie Soundtrack? To be honest, I was surprised this hadn't been posted earlier. Godzilla Movies have some pretty great soundtracks.
I don't listen to any new music. It's all crappy ear-worm stuff about boyfriends/girlfriends/breakups.
I know I should probably be putting this in Millennium Era, but the other era's also have some pretty spectacular soundtracks (take Godzilla vs. SpaceGodzilla for example).

My favorite Godzilla movie soundtrack is indisputably GMK. They've nailed everything in the soundtracks; from the atmosphere, the blending of techno/instruments, how they fit the scenario/character, the way it complements the movie and so much more.

You have the theme "Godzilla's Rage" which fits Godzilla perfectly in this film. Godzilla is out for blood and is ready to destroy Japan at whatever costs...
Spoiler:
plus he's kinda undead.
The theme starts off just like how any of Godzilla's rampages start. He enters the city and has just started destroying stuff, and naturally, people freak out and the military comes in and pisses Godzilla off. But then it stops and slows down... becoming actually rather somber (and speaking Japanese words that sound like Mosura-Ya). It's this feeling of sorrow that makes you think about the people who are dying and the destruction that's being caused.
But of course, that doesn't stop the military from continuously shooting Godzilla, pissing him off even more. The rampage goes on, only worse now and Godzilla has selected his targets and is probably spamming his Atomic Breath. It's at this point where it becomes even more booming and loud before once again, it stops. The rampage ends and Godzilla returns to sea (or dies to Kiryu's arm-drill to the face).
You could say that I'm reading too much into it, but seriously, this theme is fantastic.
You have other themes in this soundtrack too, ones that other people find notable are the themes Determined to Protect the Future, GMK (again) and the main title theme it's self. Just a great soundtrack.

Any way, since you just saw me blabber about GMK (even more), why don't you go ahead and tell everyone else what your favorite Godzilla Movie Soundtrack is? I mean, what can stop you?

Godzilla 1954
King Kong vs. Godzilla
Mothra vs. Godzilla
Ebirah, Horror of the Deep
Destroy All Monsters
Godzilla vs. Mechagodzilla
Terror of Mechagodzilla
Godzilla vs. King Ghidorah
Godzilla vs. Destoroyah
Godzilla Tokyo SOS

I love every Godzilla soundtrack except for Godzilla 2000, 1998, and 2014. These are just the ones that can't be topped by any other. Akira Ifukube > Masaru Sato > Michiru Oshima > everybody else.
