Re: Custom Home Media Cover Thread
I'm considering removing some clutter in my collection, so I may buy some multi-disc Blu Ray cases, and putting multiple films into fewer cases and creating new art for the 'collections'...I'd likely break them up as follows
Showa Series Part 1 - 1954-1968
Showa Series Part 2 - 1969-1975
Heisei Series - 1984-1995
Millennium Series 1998-2004
I like the idea of the cover art being VERY minimalist. Solid black background, minimal imagery and wording, etc etc

Which reminds me, can I ask you to source the first image used on the back cover? The administration cabinet picture? It's raising the most flags at the moment.

The particular image in question and the one you said was on the Funimation page - actually isn't. That's why I asked. While trying to find images for an unrelated project I came across the image in question. So - disregard.

I used a promotional poster to put together a quick LaserDisc cover. I adjusted the color from red to purple, mostly because I just personally like it better, and I think it goes better in the context of the film, because of the ray being purple.

tl:dr. Please do not quote images, pics or yt videos that are on the same page. Remove/break the image tag please.

Re: Custom Home Media Cover Thread
Just curious...maybe this isn't the best place to ask.
But what material would be best to print custom Blu Ray covers/inserts on? I'd like a paper material that is at least a fair approximation of the ACTUAL sort of sleek paper material that they actually use....but I don't think they sell THAT exact type of paper anywhere in stores.
I don't just want to print an image onto a regular piece of printer paper, cut to it proper size, and call it a day...I'd like something that feels a bit more legit even if it isn't necessarily the cheapest thing in the world.
So what sort of paper type and printer type could I use to yield satisfying results?

I used photo paper for a few, but the ink took a while to dry and is very sensitive to the touch.

I've heard Semi-Glossy paper should work, though looking around it might be easier to find Glossy Brochure/Flyer paper. The latter is easily found at office supply stores like Staples.
Personally, I've never been all that happy using glossy photo paper...it just doesn't look right for some reason. ^_^()

I haven't used it personally, but my friend uses glossy brochure paper. He says it works well. Not sure if it is the greatest, though.

Re: Custom Home Media Cover Thread
I use matte photo paper. The glossiness of the paper doesn't really matter since the plastic it's going to be under adds the gloss to it anyway (and ink takes forever to dry on it).
