Aroro was saddened at Terano's death. On his own he was a harmless coward, no threat to anything save fish and carrion. But she also knew that as long as Ururu controlled him, he would never stop attacking unless his body was broken or he was killed. She also felt a little ill at Godzilla's carnivores actions but that was just her herbivorous nature. She had lived around and even been friends with predators in the Dinosaur Kingdom and understood that was just the way they were. What did worry her though was the unbridled aggression in Godzilla's eyes and movement.

If he attacked, brave Anguirus would have to fight and someone would be hurt or killed befor the truth could be known. But when she heard the male speak out to Godzilla, asking him of what she has said was true, she let herself hope. When Godzilla answered she was overcome with relief. She decided that since she had been the original aggressor here, it was best if she showed she was no longer a threat. To that end she crouched down till her chin touched the ground and did her best to make he tail look nonthreatening. It was the closest an ankylosaur could get to a bow of surrender and apology.

Arrow turned to see how Chirako was doing, only to behold a sight that would make even the bravest of monsters want to run and hide.

Kumonga, the spider they had been trying to find, had found them first. Arrow looked up in horror. Not only was the spider big, it was bigger than him. Arrow then looked down, and froze at another terrible sight. Chirako, lying on the ground, completely paralyzed, helpless, and encased in the spider’s sinister webbing.

Arrow’s shock turned into rage, and his mouth started to glow with a bright crimson energy. Arrow released the ball of atomic power- only for the gargantuan arachnid to merely extend his legs and dodge the attack with ease.

Further enraged, Arrow charged toward the spider, who in turn merely swatted him aside with a single one of his eight limbs. This wasn’t working. Arrow needed a plan.

The allosaur looked up to see the spider reveal a deadly barbed stinger from within its mouth.

He needed a plan, FAST.

The night that fell upon Japan was a very strange one, to say the least. The weather was calm: a few clouds rolled through the sky in front of a bright full moon, and a light, cool breeze flowed through the empty city streets, displacing leaves, paper and other small items from where they lay. Yet there was an incredible tension in the atmosphere; the reality that the nation was under siege by unprecedented scads of monsters in just the matter of a single day, it was overwhelming t take in. Reports came in from all over of something new happening every minute, it seemed. As they sat out on Yuzo's front porch, both he and Madeleine could only wonder why all of these incidents were occurring in such a short time frame. Tokyo seemed untouched in the midst of all these events, barring the bombing that occurred at the JSDF headquarters earlier in the day. With his hands together, Yuzo sat quietly, deep in thought. Finally, he spoke to his friend.

“I can't take it anymore, I need to get today off my mind. Care to go out to one of the local bars?” he asked.

Inside, Madeleine was taken aback by this question. Why would Yuzo ask to do such a thing, this wasn't like him! As she was about to snap at him and go on a tangent as to why clubs, bars, and associated places were outright wrong to visit, she took a look at her friend, and saw the near despondent mood he was in. It almost seemed as if he was zoned out; completely detached from himself. He was supposed to be at his workplace right now, but they had called off the rest of the day amid fears of further attacks. Suddenly his question made a bit more sense, but that still should not be the remedy to the mindset he was now in. With a reluctant sigh, Madeleine let an unsure “yes” in response. At worst, she'd just have to be the designated driver for their way back. Wasting no time, Yuzo grabbed his keys and the pair went to his vehicle: a new Toyota Corolla. Perhaps it wasn't the most fashionable thing to head to a bar in, but he had saved up enough to qualify for a car loan, and it was something of his pride.

About 15 minutes had passed before they had reached their destination. The bar was small, encased between the many businesses in the plaza that housed it. Yuzo had been shown this place by his college associates, and they would occasionally hang out here for a few hours of down time. The parking lot was next to empty on this night, with only a few cars dotting the entire space; making the usually tedious task of finding a spot a rather easy choice on this occasion. Heading inside, both youths were not entirely surprised to see that the place was near empty. Only a few individuals sat along the bar, talking to the staff. Evidently their conversation was over today's events. Being as nervous as he was around new people, Yuzo darted away from even looking at the small group, and went to a booth away from the others. Madeleine followed in suit, her face in visible disgust over the scent of cigars that hung in the building.

“Ugh, my clothes are going to stink when we're out of here,” she growled to herself.

As the two were getting situated, the bartender walked to the booth they occupied, offering them a drink. Madeleine was the first to answer, ordering a ice water with lemon and lime in it, while Yuzo opted for a glass of tequila after some delay. As the bartender went to grab the drinks, Madeleine shot a look at Yuzo over his choice of beverage. Crossing her arms and letting out another sigh of displeasure, she knew there wasn't much she could do now, as they were already here. Returning to the table, the bartender handed the two their drinks, and offered that they come over to the bar where the others in the building sat.

“They aren't bad people at all,” he said with a smile.

Madeleine thought about it, perhaps it wouldn't be so bad talking to others here. Maybe they had some interesting stories to tell, or even unique takes on the events the day, as everyone seems to have when it comes to talking about current events. Madeleine obliged, in part for her hope that she could get her friend to not consume so much alcohol. Initially Yuzo refused, insisting that he needed time to himself. However, it only took several minutes of watching his friend interacting with the others and not seeming worried by their personas, as she normally would be if she encountered some strange characters, before he finally decided to join them.

“Look who finally decided to come around!” Madeleine teased, when Yuzo pulled a stool out to join the group.

There was five other men in the group who introduced themselves: Yamada, Futoshi, Kagemori, Chūjirō, and Hatsuo. Of them, the one that stuck out to Yuzo was Hatsuo, whose life story detailed being born to a post-World War 2 Tokyo family that was essentially one of the millions who 'rebuilt' Tokyo, only to watch it be crushed just less than a decade later by Godzilla's first rampage. Even more interesting, this man was now serving in the JSDF specifically to counter any sort of monster attack. Likewise, all of the men were interested in Madeleine and her stories simply because she is from the United States; a completely different world of culture, and something many have not seen outside of the military installations that remain across Japan in the years after the war, for obvious nationalistic reasons. The group's conversation carried on for a bit before being interrupted by a sudden violent shaking.

“Another explosion?” one of the men remarked.

“No,” another replied. “It seems more like an earthquake,”

Within a few moments, the shaking stopped. Several bottles had fallen off the shelves and shattered, and the light fixtures slowly rocked back and forth into place; miraculously the power remained intact throughout the whole ordeal.

“If that was an earthquake, that's the first I can recall since Niigata.. I wonder where it came from?” Hatsuo remarked.

Gamera snarled as he raised his arm where Gallon had impaled it and inspected the wound. Pale green blood trickled from the wound and dripped onto the dirt. Gamera's patience was beginning to wear thin with this creature. Gamera lowered his arm and uttered a trumpeting roar that shook the earth. The titanic turtle charged towards Gallon, making the ground tremble with each step. The behemoth collided with Gallon, grabbing Gallon by the jaws to prevent him from using his fire breath again. Gamera took in a quick inhalation of air which his internal furnaces converted into seething, scorching plasma.

Gamera fired this low power shot directly into Gallon's neck where his head connected to his mechanical body. The fireball exploded point blank, scorching and burning Gallon's flesh while warping some of the metal around the connection point. With his all his might, Gamera slammed Gallon's head onto the ground, stunning the cyborg momentarily. With his enemy momentarily stunned, Gamera raised his right foot and prepared to bring it down upon Gallon's head in order to crush it.

Arrow's mind raced, how was he going to get them out of this one? With Chirako out cold his options were limited. The golden rule when dealing with a predator was to make yourself more trouble then you were worth. All predators want to avoid wasting energy or getting injured when they don't need to. He'd made that call himself a few times, this spider was likely no different. He knew what he needed to do but he would need an opening first. Looking around he saw that there was a fallen tree behind him, it's base was still among it's standing kin. The tree's that were starting to catch fire thanks to Chirako. The roots and lower part of the fallen tree where already starting to burn.

"Ancestors bless Chirako and he temper" Arrow mentally praised. He turned his back to the spider and leaned down to grab the tree in his mouth. The incoming spider assuming his prey was cowering and lunged forward... while at the same time Arrow twisted his body and launched the burning tree right into his face. The spider jumped back, more from surprise then pain, giving Arrow the opening he needed. He began tunnelling into the ground as fast as he could. When the spider regained focus his prey was nowhere to be seen. Assume his prey had escaped the spider turned back to the meal he did catch. Something was better than nothing.

The spider made his way over to Chirako, mandibles clicking and salivating. He had made a good catch this night. The arachnid did one last check to insure this prey was not going to escape either... and while it did so Arrow head burst from the ground and fired an atomic blast right into the spider's underbelly. The spider reared back in surprise and pain, while Arrow burrowed back underground. The spider recovers from the assault and he looked round for his attacker in confusion. His eye's fell on the hole near his prey and he went to examine it... only for Arrow to pop out of the ground again and bite one of the spider’s rear legs. It was only a nip but it hurt enough to make the spider jump in surprise. He recovered quickly and turned just in time to see his tormenter go back underground, he would be ready next time. The spider waited patiently, his senses tuned to the slightest change in the environment. Then one of his eyes caught sight of a patch of ground being disturbed off to his left. Fury and instinct getting the better of his caution, the spider sprang at his rising target... only to find itself flying face first into one of Arrow's blast! The spider crashed to the ground, wailing in pain and front legs waving about his hurt face. This was the straw that broke the camel’s back for the arachnid. In pain and half blinded, the spider bolted for his lair.

After poping his head above ground to make shore the coast was clear, Arrow emerged from the earth and made his way to Chirako. She looked pale and her breathing was shallow, no way to know if the spider venom was going to wair off soon or not. Best thing to do would be to go to ground and see how her condition improved. There was also the issue of the silk she was wrapped in however. He poked at it and found it to be very sticky. He then tried to slash it with his claws and only just avoided getting stuck himself. Thinking quickly, Arrow walked over the burning trees and took one of the smaller ones in hand. He then took it over to Chirako and drew the burning wood across the webbing. Like lava through bone, the silk parted as if was made of tree vine. With his partner now free, Arrow awkwardly dragged her into one of his tunnels, than began the pain staking process of trying to dig and drag someone at the same time.

Kamiyama, Japan

Gamera’s last attack had taken all the fight out of Gallon. All the mechasaur could remember was pain, suffering... and... and him. The evil in the shadows. His insect like eyes, his awful laughter and what he did. It was then Gallon realised it was all over now. This creature he had never seen before was going to put him out of his misery. A look of pure serenity passed over the mechsaur’s face as he waited for the end.

“Thank you.”

--------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Unknown Location

The figure in the dark made a sound of annoyance. The fight had been far too short and the data collected to small because of it. Well it had not been a total waste. In fact it confirmed something he had suspected. The Mechasaurs were going to need cybernetic augmentation to their brains; they were too unstable and unreliable otherwise. This information didn’t fully relieve him of his anger however. He reached down and grabbed the whip that was lying on the arm of his thrown, got up and made his way out of the room.

10 minutes later the sound of a cracking whip, cries of agony and cruel laughter echoed throughout the space.

With no further attempts at defense by his enemy, Gamera's foot came down on Gallon's head with a sickening crunch; blood, flesh and even an eyeball went flying out from underneath of the behemoth's foot. There was a moment of silence as Gamera looked down at his kill. Gamera broke this silence with a half-growl-half-sigh as he raised his wounded arm, looking at the wound which had stopped bleeding, but the leathery skin around it was stained green with his blood.

Gamera looked back at Gallon's headless body and snarled. He began to take in vast quantities of air, his gullet producing a low pitched humming as infernal energies churned within him. Flames gathered around the edges of Gamera's mouth and the air simmered. Gamera leaned forward and fired a full power blast at Gallon's body, the fireball impacting against the cyborg's remains. The blast was so immense that the cyborg's body was blasted apart and the very earth shook. The explosion could be seen from miles.

As the flames swallowed Gallon's remains, Gamera's hulking silhouette emerged from the raging fire with a scowl; he had achieved his first kill in his renewed quest to protect this planet and it's people. Gamera leaned back and released a triumphant roar so loud it shook the earth and could be heard for miles on end. With this monster dealt with, Gamera knew that there would be many more to come and as such, he would hunt them down one by one.

Blasts of steam shot fourth from the rolls of flesh around Gamera's knees, kicking up dust and debris that obscured Gamera completely. After mere moments, Gamera's shell levitated high into the air via the rocket thrusters where his arms and legs would be. Gamera's shell would begin spinning rapidly clockwise until he was once again a blurry UFO that shot off into the morning sky. However unbeknownst to Gamera, the whole fight had been observed.

In the trees 400 meters, 3 Simian field agents operated a bizarre device that closely resembled a camera. Flanking them where two Simians who where not in civilian clothes; no, these where soldiers. They wore the same silver jumpsuits standard among them, but these where clad with large, overlapping scales on the shoulders and chest. The plates where made of the same black, shiny metal as Kuronuma's arm-band. They both carried unusual silver-chrome rifles resembling muskets or other early firearms, but much more advanced. The barrel of the rifles had a fine, screw-like spiral on their surface.

"Commander, we have retrieved footage and data of two new monsters we came across in the field"

One of the disguised operatives spoke through a communication device similar to the one Yanegawa received.

Back at the base, Kuronuma read the information that scrolled across his screen. One of the monsters was a massive being resembling an earth animal called a "turtle" and the other resembled a prehistoric animal, albeit heavily modified with cybernetics.

"I understand that one of the creatures perished?" Kuronuma asked curiously.

"Yes sir, the cybernetically modified dinosaur was destroyed however there appears to be enough of it left that could be salvageable. Permission to recover samples?"

"Granted." Kuronuma said without hesitation. This new technology could prove beneficial to his cause if it can be recovered and it's secrets unlocked. This was clearly not the human's creation; their underdeveloped minds could not comprehend such technology. No, this was something else.....the beings who's communications they intercepted, perhaps? It was possible, but only once the cyborg's remains where brought back to base could the answer be revealed.

Kumonga wandered back to its nest with disappointment resounding throughout his brain, and pain searing in his chest. He had initially fled the fight quite quickly, but was now traversing the tunnels leading back to his lair very slowly, as a few of his legs had been injured in the fight, the wounds from the reptillian pest’s bite oozing dark yellow blood.

The spider returned to its nest, and commanded to be given whatever his other lackeys had managed to scrounge up for food today. He waited a moment, but he received no reply. Only strange looks from the Kamacuras. The mantises all seemed to be staring at him, but he could not decipher why. One Kamacuras finally approached him, only to convey to him that they had all been planning on sharing the feast of the dinosaurs with him, and therefore had not gone hunting today.

The spider gave what was essentially the equivalent of a scoff, and told them that he had never intended to share that meal with them. This drew more blank stares from the mantises. Kumonga proceeded to order them all to find food for him quickly. The mantises did not respond. Frustrated, he repeated the command. Soon, however, he realized why the mantises were staring at him.

In horror, he backed away from the horde of insects slowly. He realized exactly what was about to happen. He was injured, and they had no food. They were hungry. The spider continues to back away.

Suddenly, one Kamacuras let out an ear-piercing screech, and the horde of insects descended upon their former king. The spider fought back, taking down a few, but sustaining many more injuries in the process. Quickly, he realized that he was hopelessly outnumbered, and fled his home, with a few mantises trying to follow him out, whom he promptly killed.

~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
Badly wounded, shamed, and starving, the spider trekked across the open plains of the island, with only the moon and stars lighting his way. He wandered aimlessly around the island for quite a while, before collapsing from exhaustion beneath a grove of large trees.
He decided that he would stay and rest there for the night. He looked up into the starry night sky as he lay down in the shade of the leaves. But strangely, he saw one star that looked very particularly bright. To make matters stranger, it was moving. Fast.
The spider looked on in shock as it realized that the light in the sky wasn’t a star at all. It was some sort of UFO- about to crash right into him!
The arachnid quickly jumped out of the way of the incoming object, at the cost of further injuring his legs. The UFO crashed with an enormous explosion that seemed to light up the entirety of Monster Island. The spider then laid there next to the crater created by whatever strange object had just collided with the Earth, crippled and paralyzed. Then something moved within the crater. Kumonga tried to peer down, but couldn’t see anything due to his inability to move.
Unfortunately, what had moved inside the crater could see him. Kumonga’s bulbous, wine red eyes saw a small, bright red light shining through the smoke emanating from the crater. Almost instantly, the spider was shocked as the thing inside the crater darted towards him at breakneck speed. Within less than a second, Gigan was upon the helpless Kumonga.
The spider could not even get a good look at the cyborg terror as the alien beast shrieked an unholy cry of terror that made the spider truly understand the meaning of fear. The cyborg flipped Kumonga until he was resting on his abdomen, almost looking as if he was sitting upright. The spider could do nothing but chatter incoherently in a vain plea of mercy as the alien held a bladed appendage to Kumonga’s throat.
The cyborg suddenly seemed to stop and analyze the spider’s pleas for mercy, and proceeded to mimic it, giving a shrill series of chirps that resembled a laugh. The cyborg then seemed to tell the former king of insects that he needed information. In exchange for the knowledge he sought, he would spare the spider’s miserable life. Kumonga, feeling desperate, agreed.
Gigan then asked the arachnid, which monster, of all the beasts on Earth, was the strongest. The arachnid knee of the beast this alien was likely seeking, from his own encounter with the self-proclaimed king of monsters. And so, Kumonga gave the cyborg the name of his target. The abomination, and king of monsters: Godzilla.
The cyborg thanked the spider for his cooperation, only to decapitate the helpless arachnid immediately after, yellow blood spewing all over and staining Gigan’s scythe. The alien gave another screeching cry of maniacal glee, before taking to the air at supersonic speeds and landing in a largely unpopulated region of mainland Japan near the coast.
He found a large electrical tower, and immediately fired his grappling hooks from his scythes, which wrapped around the tower without damaging it too badly. The cyborg let out another shriek as he began to drain the power from the area, while also downloading data from the puny humans’ computer grid. For such petty, insignificant creatures, they sure seemed very well informed. Especially about this Godzilla.
Yes, Gigan could see everything the humans knew about this strange beast. It resembled a reptile, not completely unlike the saurian he had slain onboard the Xillien mothership. But it was much larger, from what he could tell. Much more deformed-looking, for certain.
Yes, he could tell why that pathetic eight-legger had called this thing an abomination. It certainly looked ugly. Well, the cyborg now knew what it looked like, and that it lived on that same island it had just discovered. He also discovered that it had recently made landing in a coastal city this afternoon, and had wreaked havoc on a small city called “Osaka.” So, he knew where to look for it presently, and where it lived.
This was going very well...
Satisfied that Godzilla was not, in fact, their true enemy, Anguirus allowed himself to relax a small notch and risk a glance back at Aroro. He was surprised and rather grateful to find her crouched low in a submissive, apologetic posture; if Godzilla accepted that offer of peace, it would probably give Anguirus a way out, too.
Returning his eyes to the looming mutant, he slowly sank down to all fours and backed away to the female's side, conveying through his posture that he was willing to end the skirmish if Godzilla was, while still making it clear that he wasn't intimidated or retreating. He didn't want his adversary getting any stupid idea of having won this abbreviated fight.
Godzilla narrowed his eyes at both of the ankylosaurs, recognizing their stances as an attempt at making peace and ending this pointless display of violence. After a good minute of him just staring at them, Godzilla yielded and turned from the two monsters and towards the shore. The mutant began to emit a series of gentle calls that echoed across the top of the sea. Then, when he was finished, Godzilla looked back and forth to locate his quarry. Suddenly, a large shape appeared from beneath the waves: A row of smooth, undeveloped fins that cut through the water and headed to the island. When they neared the shallows, the plates leaned backwards into the ocean and revealed the owner of them. Junior, having heard his father’s vocalizations that it was now safe to breach, immediately came forth and excitedly headed to him.
As the young Kaiju made landfall, he took attention to Aroro and Anguirus standing a few feet behind Godzilla and nervously went to the latter to hide behind him. Godzilla bent down and nuzzled Junior’s scaly cranium with the tip of his snout, purring to him that the two herbivores were indeed friendly... For the most part, as Godzilla turned to peer at Anguirus. Taking his eyes off the stubborn Kaiju, Godzilla trumpeted to Junior that they needed to leave these islands in search for another one, as it was no longer safe to live here. It seemed as though more and more parties knew where Godzilla was, which put his son at unnecessary risk. Junior obliged with a snort and little nod, before setting his sights upon the others.
Godzilla’s reassurance that Aroro and Anguirus were safe was all Junior needed to become infinitely curious, and started towards them. Godzilla barked a plead for him to come back here, but before he could even think to grab him, Junior was already acquainting himself with them both. First starting with Aroro, Junior sniffed her from head to toe and even poked her armored skin with one of his claws. Ultimately, he gave her a warm smile through his eyes and then turned to the other one. With Anguirus, Junior was a bit more curious, sniffing and prodding different places of the former like a little monkey. He even touched the monster’s long and fierce looking fangs, as well as poked his nose horn in subdued awe. Junior’s eyes lit up and he roared happily at the old Kaiju.
Godzilla, having stood behind and studied the whole exchange, finally made his way over and rested a hang atop Junior’s head. He grumbled that it was time to leave and started leading him towards the ocean. Junior inquired about the others, to which Godzilla stopped and glanced back at them. He was extremely hesitant, not wanting to take on extra baggage and making their trip slower than it should have. Besides, Godzilla didn’t need a pack, especially one as... Makeshift as this one would have been. But, Junior growled a plea, indicating that they were safer in numbers and the female would need somewhere to rest and heal. Godzilla remained silent for a while as he considered the inane prospect, but ultimately, he begrudgingly agreed.
He turned to them and purred deeply: IF the two of them wished to follow he and his son to a safer place in order to rest and take up temporary residence, then Godzilla knew of another patch of land not too far from here. With that, Godzilla growled to his son to leave and started off. Junior paused to take another gaze at the thorny creatures before him, and with a snort, hurriedly followed after his father whom was nearly in the water already. He roared for Godzilla to slow down a bit and dove into the ocean.
The excitable little creature's invasive examination took Anguirus by surprise. Part of him was tempted to just crush Junior, both out of annoyance and sheer common sense- this innocent young predator would become like its father soon enough.
But he got the impression that Godzilla might disapprove, and reigniting the conflict to that extent didn't seem smart. And anyway... the thing was kind of endearing in a pitiful sort of way, and wasn't doing any real harm for the moment. He let it work out its curiosity until Godzilla pulled it away and headed for the sea.
The adult's offer a moment later was even more surprising, and not in a good way. Anguirus blew the idea of following the carnivores off with a derisive snort, and turned to gauge Aroro's reaction. He could clearly smell that she came from a place teeming with dinosaurs like herself, familiar plants, and generally reminded him of the home he'd lost. He honked a suggestion that they should return to her territory.
Aroro was happy the chick was not afraid of her and really didn't mind his curiosity. She was rather fond of chicks in general and, while she had never had any of her own, she'd played baby sitter for several clutches. It wasn't that she was prudish or overly picky, it was just that all the males who'd ever shown intreast had been rude blowhards who thought that she'd fall at their feet just because they waltz into her territory and made a spectacle of themselves. Not one of them ever showed the qualities Anguirus had displayed so far and all had been seen off by her. A few rather insistent males had also gotten their scuts dented for good measure.
When the chick started examining Anguirus, Aroro could easily tell the male was not used to dealing with the young. She was pleased to see that in spite of this, he didn't lash out at the unintentional rudeness. That ment there was hope he'd turn out to be a decent father in the future. Had Aroro been human she would have blushed deep crimson in that moment. She mentally chastised herself "What am I thinking?! We haven't even done a courtship dance yet!" When she came back to reality she caught the end of Godzilla's offer. She could tell Anguirus was not thrilled at the idea and had anticipated his question. As much as would have liked it, she had to tell the truth.
Aroro shook her head in response. When she saw the confusion on Anguirus's face she did her best to explain. She came from a place were many dinosaurs lived, it was called the Dinosaur Kingdom. While it was best place for them... Ururu ruled all of it. He was the alpha of all the dinosaurs and his word was law. She was viewed as a traitor for disobeying him and... being attracted to Anguirus. At the male's confused look, she explained that Ururu viewed dinosaurs not from the kingdoms as "inferior". If they went back, every dinosaur would be out for their blood because Ururu ordered it. She looked over to Godzilla, even if he came with them it would be too dangerous.
She knew that Anguirus was not going to like what she said next but it was the truth. They should go with Godzilla and Junior. Ururu viewed them all as enemies now and he would send stronger dinosaurs to deal with them. It would be safer for them all if they stuck together for the time being.
Anguirus glowered as he took in and mulled over her explanation. He weighed the options, turning to watch Godzilla and his son disappear beneath the surface. They were easily still close enough to follow if the Ankylosaurs agreed to do so, but he still wasn't convinced. Just because Godzilla hadn't actually started the fight didn't mean he could be trusted. He was clearly a dangerous brute that relished violence, even if he could evidently be reasoned with.
This Ururu sounded if anything worse, but Aroro had said herself that this Dinosaur Kingdom was the best place for them to live. More importantly, he could tell that she badly wanted to go back there, and why wouldn't she? Her own well-earned territory was there, after all.
He growled that if Aroro wanted to go home, nobody was going to stop her. He would deal with Ururu himself, one way or another.
Aroro found her resolve on the matter waver. On the one hand she felt that Anguirus was just not used to being around predators like she was. Also while he was a mutant, Godzilla was a dinosaur at heart and he belonged with his own kind as well. On the other, maybe, just maybe Ururu could be reasoned with. She hadn’t actually done anything to harm his plans so maybe she could convince him to let them return if they promised to no cause trouble. For all the terrible thing he did Ururu was very intelligent.
Maybe they could try. But Aroro wanted to make things clear. If they went, every dinosaur could be an enemy. And Ururu was not the only strong creature they needed to be careful of. If things turned bad they had to leave right away.
Then a sudden pang of sorrow overcame Aroro as her mind drifted towards the last part of Anguirus‘s statement. Her brave Anguirus standing his ground against Ururu. It was more then her heart could bare. “NO!” She cried as tears began to well in her eyes. She ran up to him and buried he face in the crook of his neck. “No... you can’t..” Aroro cried “Your strong and brave, but Ururu... has crushed every single challenger who opposed him, he’ll kill you and he’d make shore you suffered as an example to all dinosaurs!” She pulled her head back and looked him strait in the eyes “Promise me, promise you wont fight him no matter what!” She pleaded.
Deep underground in the dome of this mysterious alien race, a group of high ranking members sat at a round table, watching a large screen. Here, they saw the deep fissures that lay in place of Ueno, and behind their masks, the beings gave a slight grin of smugness.
“This plan is going well,” the leader spoke. “When day comes, we will show all of those on this pathetic rock a piece of our might. Direct Moguera to the northwest. It will strike Sakuho when the time is right.”
_____
In the National Diet Building, a private meeting was being held between various high-ranking officials of many fields: political, military, scientific, economic, all from that interconnected web of figures that run a nation, whether or not they are visible to the public eye. All were there for the same purpose: what is Japan going to do, and what consequences will those actions have? Then the earthquake struck, to which the men inside instinctively took cover. After it was all over, an atmosphere of confusion was apparent.
“That's the first quake I've felt in a while,” Satō spoke. “Excuse me, I have a call to make about this.”
With that, the prime minister stepped into a neighboring quarter, and phoned Koji's lab, more specifically his private number in anticipation of concerned citizens calling about the same matter. After a few rings, the professor answered.
“Hello?” he responded in a somewhat tired voice.
“Koji,” Satō began. “Sorry to bother you at this hour, but surely you just felt the recent tremors too, no?”
Upon hearing the minister's voice, this immediately snapped the professor from his tired state. “Y-yes. I wasn't expecting them at all. The indicators this department set up across the nation first went off around Nagano. Which is unusual.”
“So you're telling me this event was unforeseen, even by your team?”
“Yes. If you'd like, I can travel to the area to investigate the cause of this further.”
Satō thought about his response for a moment, before continuing. “It would be helpful to know more about this, and you're the ideal choice to investigate the situation. The optics for all of us right now are not the greatest, and this cannot be another opening for the public to lose even more confidence in us, because quite honestly, my guess on what is happening is as good as theirs. So why don't you go ahead and do that? I will consult Hashimoto on sending in military personnel to the affected area to aid in your field work.”
“I'll be looking into this from my lab until then, Prime minister.” Koji replied.
With that, Satō returned to the room in which the meeting was being held, and looked at Hashimoto.
“Koji of our research department plans on heading to the area from which the quake that just struck seems to have originated. Would you be able to aid him in deploying a battalion to secure the area and assist in his work?” Satō asked wholeheartedly.
“Will do,” Hashimoto responded. With that, he too excused himself to the same phone that Satō had just been on, and dialed his first choice's home number. Within seconds, the phone to Hidachi's house began to ring...
The Elder wasn't sure what he just witnessed here, but it was clear that the situation didn't require his involvement. He maintained his position as he waited for the youngster to return to the surface, and thanks to his staying still and mostly motionless, he wasn't noticed. With the situation over now, he sank back into the darkness, and swam off to another location that was calling his attention at the moment. It so happened though, that this required him to go the opposite direction of where Godzilla and Junior were heading, he himself was starting on the trek to mainland Japan, where a lot of activity was going on. He didn't like what seemed to be developing there, and he liked it even less that there was only one monster there that had the desire to maintain balance. Where the devil were those other guardians anyways? Was Mothra still hiding in that place the humans called the Yunan Forest? What was Walterrus doing skulking around the coast of China? And Byakkan, well, he decided to go right to her, directly, since she was making a bee line for the Ogasawara Islands. At least that would settle that issue for the time being, and he set off on that intercept course...
"I'm detecting some radiation." Yoko said as her Geiger counter machine scratched out the ominous sounds of radiation. "Not as much as would be expected with a Godzilla related mutation though..."
"So, something else then..." Yamato said as he mused, "We'll need to find one of these rats so-" He was cut off as everyone felt the ground violently shake for a time, and then stop. "What on Earth?" Yamato asked.
"Earthquake." Kenshiro said, "But we're not due for one just yet..." Cole looked at the man with a puzzled expression on his face
"I haven't experienced many Earthquakes, but don't they usually last longer than just a brief instant like that?" He asked, and Kenshiro nodded.
"They normally do, thanks to the plate tectonics of the Earth's crust." Kenshiro explained, "Earthquakes normally last at least a full minute. This was... something else..." He thought on it, having been a personal witness to explosives and the shockwaves they generated. This feeling like it may have been that. "We'll need to figure this out."
"But what about the rats?" Yoko asked.
"Yamato and Cole will stay here, and continue to search for the rats." Kenshiro said, "Yoko, you and I should figure out the source of that shockwave. Something tells me that we're either experiencing another new Kaiju attack, or someone's trying to take out kaiju by taking out Japan. Though I seriously doubt the latter, given that there's been no warning sirens or anything warning about an aggressive military attack." He then headed off to contact the KDRC HQ, with Yoko following after him shortly.
"So, my favorite martian." Yamato said to Cole, "Looks like it's you and me, huh?"
"For now..." Cole said with slight irritation in his voice. He didn't particularly appreciate being referred to by that Disney sitcom name. "Any ideas where to look for the rats?"
"Well, I don't know if you're going to like this, but..." Yamato indicated one of the man-holes. "You aren't claustrophobic, are you?"
"No." Cole replied simply, "But will I need to bathe later?"
"Yeah, we both will." Yamato said as he walked over to the man-hole, and jammed a crow-bar from a tool set near by into the side, budging the lid.
"Here." Cole said with a head shake and roll of his eyes as he helped Yamato lift the lid off. "I'll go down first, just in case."
"After you." Yamato said as Cole jumped right down into the thing, and Yamato himself started to climb down.
The day's trend of surprising events continued, and Anguirus stiffened, going stock still as Aroro buried her face in his neck, pleading with him. His mind went into a confused overdrive, torn between stupidly shutting down at the unfamiliar but not at all unwelcome sensation of physical contact with a beautiful female, and racing to work out what this meant. The overemotional outburst said a lot, he realized; they hadn't known one another more than ten minutes, and already she seemed to care deeply about him.
Belatedly, he realized that she had backed off and was looking him in the eye, her own amazing red eyes filling his vision and not doing his struggling mind any favors... oh. He snapped more or less back to reality, registering finally that she was speaking as he caught the last, desperate sentence.
He gave a wordless grunt, stalling for time as his overworked brain's machinery chugged back up to speed, and he internally shook himself, returning her firm gaze with some semblence of mental clarity. He had to be honest with himself: that promise was going to be hard to keep. If Ururu was anything like he'd been told, the tyrant might well force that fight. And, the spiny saurian realized, he might have a darned difficult time keeping his own temper in check if he met the Alpha face to face. Where did this bastard get off, ruling his herd through terror and oppression like this? Making a sweet, decent dinosaur like Aroro live in constant fear for her life, worrying that she couldn't return to her own home?
But he found that he couldn't deny Aroro comfort, either. He rumbled a reply, promising that he would do his best to make things right with Ururu through peaceful means, and wouldn't be the one to start any fighting. Hesitantly, wanting to reassure her, he leaned in closer, lightly rubbing his head against her own. Her rough scales felt good against his own, and he felt a bit of the tension leave her body. He also got a close look at the ugly bite wounds on her neck. The bleeding seemed to have stopped, but she did need to rest if that mess was going to heal quickly.
Pulling back, he growled that they needed to get going, and that Aroro would need to lead the way.
Aroro was surprised at Anguirus’s show of affection. She felt that maybe she’d gotten a little too emotional just now and put him off. It wasn’t just that the male was a fine specimen and showed interest in her, in this short span of time Aroro was more comfortable then she had been in a long time. Since Ururu became alpha, every dinosaur felt on edge. As if they were always being watched for signs of weakness or dissonance. Not only were many dinosaurs Ururu supporters who would instantly report anything to him, but you could never quite shack the feeling Ururu was lurking nearby, watching you. While still there, the feeling was very faint. Her interactions with Anguirus and Godzilla’s chick added to this as they had no ties to the Dinosaur King, everything just felt... well more natural.
But despite how she felt about it, the Kingdom was her home. It was and should be home to all dinosaurs. The food was right, the water and air clean. Dinosaurs could, even with Ururu’s reforms, live reasonably natural lives. It was the best environment for chicks to grow up in. Well at least she wasn’t going back alone and Anguirus had said he’d do his best not to get into a fight. But before they left...
Aroro made her way to the water’s edge and unleashed a call to the departing father and son. Good bye and take care. “May we meet again under better circumstances” she thought to herself. With that done, she motioned to Anguirus then walked over to the hole she had created under Godzilla. With her injury it would be for the best if they followed this tunnel back rather than dig a new one. After looking back to make shore Anguirus was ready, she began making her way back into the earth.
------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
The Dinosaur Kingdom
Ururu was not in a good mood. What ever happened between him and Godzilla just wouldn’t leave his mind and it was starting to make the headache the mental battle had given him worse. “Curse you.” He growled as he made is way down to the plains. He needed to eat something, that normally made him feel better.
He was almost out of the foot hills when he subconsciously picked up that something was wrong. The foot hills generally didn’t have a big dinosaur presence; it was too close to his home. Yet it was even quieter than normal. He also caught the scent of dinosaurs not normally found here, if he didn’t know better... It was then he heard thundering footsteps from behind him. Turning his head he saw a sand colored Triceratops charging at him. “Murara” Ururu thought. A look of utter contempt crossed the Dinosaur King’s face, what was that deviant after now. With agility that seemed unnatural for his giant frame, Ururu sprang to the side, effortlessly dodging the attack. His attacker skidded to a stop some distance awayand turned to face him. The dinosaur’s face was a mask of grim determination, but Ururu could smell it’s fear. “What are you trying to do Murara? I’m aware that you trikes have a predisposition towards being thick skulled but I didn’t think any of you were this stupid?” Ururu mockingly asked.
“We’ve come to stop this madness Ururu!” bellowed Murara. The statement only succeeded in making Ururu to chuckle, “and pray tell who is we?” No sooner had the question left his lips the ground beside the trike began to displace. The horned head of another trike, this one dark grey, rose from the ground. “Topura?! Hahaha!” mocked the Dinosaur King “You can’t be serious?! The two of you aren’t even a good warm up for Garara!” That last comment clearly hit a nerve as both triceratops instantly entered a battle stance. “They don’t fight alone Ururu” trumpeted a voice to his left. A corythosaurus stepped out from behind a rocky outcrop. Tyrannosaur chuckled at the sight, then said half to himself “Well I was hoping for something a little more filling, what a disappointing catch” “What do you mean?!” Murara demanded.
Ururu’s features twisted into the closest thing a tyrannosaur could get to a grin, “What I mean, tasty trike, is that the only thing you achieved today was saving me the trouble of looking for my meal.”
The second he finished speaking, Ururu suddenly turned and charged the corythosaurus. The duckbill had not been ready for the sudden attempt on it’s life and instead of moving to the side it stepped back. Ururu was on it in a moment, but instead of biting the dinosaur he leaned back, raised his right leg and delivered a brutal strait kick to the herbivore’s stomach. While Ururu’s claws slash their skin, the real damage came from the raw kinetic energy of the blow. It sent the corythosaurus flying backwards, the air driven from their lungs. Likely something within their body was ruptured by the attack also. The poor beast crash landed some distance away, shocked and pain forcing it to stay down.
Ururu then turned back to his other foes only to find they were charging at him. In response Ururu charged them. The tyrannosaur and the trikes cleared the distance in a matter of seconds. Just as he was about to be impaled by two sets of horns. Ururu leapt up using his right leg and brought his left down on Murara’s skull, above his horns. Ururu’s weight forced the sand coloured trikes head right into the ground, the impact snapping their left horn, and digging a trench in the earth. Using the momentum from his charge, Ururu pivoted to his left, pushed off of Murata’s head and leapt backwards. The jump pushed the trikes head even harder into the ground, increasing the damage the violent cartwheel was about to deal. Muarar spun end over end, each time their body connecting with the ground not looking healthy. When they did stop, they were on their side, covered in dirt, cuts and aching all over. One leg was bent at an unnatural angle
“This is so easy I almost feel guilty.” Ururu smugly thought to himself. He turned his attention back to his last standing enemy. “Well little trike, what are you going to do now?” To Ururu’s surprise Topura actually backed away from him. Ururu grinned again; someone had learned their lesson... far too late to save their skin! Ururu charged the coward, who froze up and soiled themselves in pure terror. “Pathetic.” As the thought crossed his mind, Ururu was struck from the right side. The corythosaurus had gotten back on it’s feet and charged as fast as it could into the Dinosaur King, causing him to stagger and nearly fall. “Run!” it honked at the petrified Topura “Run you idiot!” Topura snapped out of their fear and instantly bolted, fear giving speed to their flight.
A roar of fury split the air and the corythosaurus turned back to their enemy, only to find Ururu almost on top of them! On instinct, the corythosaur unleashed a stream of fire from their mouth, aiming for Ururu’s head. The attack momentarily stunned the tyrannosaur, forcing him to back off. The corythosaurus was about to attempt it’s own escape, when suddenly a massive torrent of fire blasted away their own flames and engulfed the herbivore in an inferno of pain. It screamed in agony as Ururu’s superior fire breath roasted it alive.
Once the nuisance was thoroughly cooked, Ururu looked back to where Topura had been. The dark grey trike was nowhere to be seen. Well it didn’t really matter right now, but this “attempted” assassination proved that the dissenters could be a problem. A problem Ururu was not willing to tolerate anymore.
But all that was for later. Right now he had other choices to make. “Well done...” He looked at the roasted corythosaur, “or rare!” his head turned to the crippled Murara. The smell of blood made the choice for him. Ururu calmly walked over to the sand coloured trike. The impact of every step radiating though the ground and Murara’s body. As he got closer, the king looked his prey’s body up and down. It was all so delicious; he didn’t know where to start. Murara tried to rise, tried to offer some kind of resistance but they were too badly hurt. Even when they could muster enough strength to try, the injured leg was so painful that they fell right back down. Ururu savoured the trike’s pain and fear, they made a nice d'Oeuvre. When he was right up to his meal’ Ururu raised his left foot and placed it on Muarar’s shoulder, preventing them from rising again. He then leaned down and bit into the trike’s stomach.
Ururu always did prefer to eat his prey alive.
Re: The Gorilla Whale
Okinawa, Japan
The headquarters had been bustling all morning with news of strange alien technology being discovered by field agents, the scientist where especially looking forward to analyzing and studying it. The doors to the base's laboratory hissed open as the field agents entered the lab carrying large, black crates containing the recovered components of Gallon. Most of the creature was obliterated by Gamera and what was left was badly damaged, however some armor fragments, circuitry and neural chips where recovered in acceptable condition. The neural chips where particularly messy to recover, as the operatives had to dig through the gruel of blood, brains and skull fragments of Gallon's crushed head to recover.
The agents placed the crates on a large, hexagonal chrome table that had been cleared in advance. Kuronuma stood with his scientific staff, arms crossed with a lit cigar in his mouth as he watched the operatives unlock the crates and open the lids to reveal their secrets. Immediately the scientists left their master's side and looked in amazement at the treasures within, like children in a candy store. The neural chips where the first to be taken to be analyzed by the powerful electron microscope in the lab. The chips resembled a bundle of colored wires connected to gold interfaces that would have been linked to Gallon's organic brain and allowed him to move his cybernetic body.
" This technology is fascinating! I dare say even more advanced than ours!" Exclaimed one of the scientists.
Kuronuma took a drag of his cigar and cast a glance of doubt at the scientist who spoke.
"What do you mean?" Kuronuma asked.
"This technology could help us improve our own with enough time. Specifically, these chips could help us upgrade MechaGodzilla's control circuits for better reaction time in combat, as well as assist it's rudimentary AI much more efficient if our preliminary estimates are correct. Possibly, we may even be able to incorporate organic components into Mechagodzilla!" Replied the scientist.
Kuronuma was pleased with what he heard, reflected by the large grin that spread across his face as he took another drag of his cigar. He walked over to the monitor displaying a microscopic-level analysis of the chips.
"I want you to focus your efforts on reverse engineering and improving these neural chips for use in MechaGodzilla. Send copies of the files to Agent Ivanova as a back up" Kuronuma ordered before he was interrupted by another one of his scientists.
"Commander, we've run a metallurgical test on the armor fragments, and the results are..well..shocking..." the scientist said nervously, beads of sweat rolling down his face behind the black visor of his helmet.
"And why is that?" Kuronuma said, sounding uninterested in the scientist's panic.
"Tests indicate that the metal that composes these armor fragments is a near identical match to Super Alloy D" the scientist replied.
Kuronuma's grin vanished immediately and he took the cigar out of his mouth. "Super Alloy D", he thought to himself. If this test was indeed accurate, then his invasion plans will have to be altered significantly. This metal was forged from components only found in the Dark Nebula; a wretched hell filled with space monsters and other hostile life forms. It all began to make sense now; the reason this new faction of aliens wouldn't answer their communications is because they where from the Dark Nebula! They likely never had intentions for diplomacy and their presence here as well as that of Super Alloy D cannot be a coincidence.
However one small detail didn't add up; why would this race from the Dark Nebula cybernetically enhance a prehistoric animal instead of a more powerful space monster? Did they not have one at their disposal and this was the best they could get? Where they the last vestiges if a dying empire seeking to rebuild here? While these possibilities troubled Kuronuma, the silver lining was at least now they could keep up with these beings now that they had some of their tech to reverse engineer. That, and if oversized prehistoric animals was all they had to offer, then MechaGodzilla would have little trouble vanquishing them all; after all, he was designed after and built to destroy the mightiest of them all: Godzilla.
But then another thought popped into Kuronuma's mind: the turtle monster who destroyed the cybernetic creature. It's allegiances where unknown, but it dealt with that cyborg with relative ease. Additionally, how could it fly?? What naturally occurring creature could fly like an aircraft at will? It didn't make any sense, but one thing was clear: this monster possessed immense power and was not to be trifled with, it might possibly rival even Godzilla himself!
Kuronuma sighed, yet another thing added to his growing plate of complications; Godzilla, the Goten, the Dark Nebula Aliens, now this flying turtle. Kuronuma pointed at one of his scientists and issued an order with a tone of utmost urgency.
"Open a case file on this turtle creature. It want as much information compiled on it as possible and I want it's current whereabouts!" Said Kuronuma.
The scientist saluted and immediately got to work compiling the data recovered by their field agents.
Tokyo, Japan
Gamera approached the metropolis from Mt Fuji and maintained a medium altitude to avoid hitting any human aircraft. As Gamera flew over the vast city, he could sense the electrical currents running through the city like the blood in his own veins. He could hear their communications, talking, laughter and much more. So much time had passed since he was created and sent alongside his brethren to fight the Gyaos, and just as he had aged, so did humanity. Gamera remembered when humans lived in small villages made of simple stone and wood, and would gather and hunt their food. Now, they live in dwellings even taller that he was, powered by electrical currents and traveled not on foot or by horse, but by these strange metal boxes with wheels. Even from within his shell, Gamera could smell the noxious fumes these vehicles emitted.
Gamera could smell these fumes and the tainted air of this city, and he feared for the humans. They where still relatively young and primitive, but they where quickly going down a destructive path with their weapons and contamination of the planet. He could slay the monsters that threatened them from outside, but he could do nothing about the monsters from within them. Some people looked out the windows of their homes and gazed in amazement at the huge black UFO soaring over the city, emitting a high pitched whistle as it went. Gamera made a pass over the Diet Building before making a wide right turn and disappearing into the distance.
Amori was finishing up the few remaining dishes left in the kitchen from dinner while Hidachi was in the shower, and trying her best to scrape and scrub the black burnt crust off the stove from her 100th failed attempt at making any real food. Just then, as she was putting some plates up, the phone in the living room started ringing, causing her brow to furrow. “Who could be calling at this hour?” Amori thought to herself.
“Honey, could you get that please?” Hidachi yelled down from upstairs.
“On it!” Amori said and hurried over to the phone. She grabbed it haphazardly, almost causing it to slip from her hands before quickly catching it and putting the speaker up to her ear. “Britannia residence.” She politely answered.
Anguirus blinked as Aroro began to burrow into the ground. He considered asking what in the world she was doing, but then just sagged a bit and decided he was done with surprises and questions for today. Whatever weirdness fate decided to throw at him, he was just going to accept it. Scraping away some soil that was tumbling back into the hole, Anguirus followed his new companion into the cold, dark bowels of the Earth...
