Name: Malcolm, MS-GAUhv-035-00815-C
Age: 12 (Chronologically) - constructed in 2075
Species: Android
Gender: Male
Appearance: Malcolm stands 195.8 cm tall, exactly. He weighs 436.19 kg, when all of his components are together. His body, composed of a tungsten endoskeleton overlain with carbon nanotube musculature, resembles a dark grey skinless man of heavy build. His frame’s hands, face and neck are usually covered in a false skin, the seams of which have become visible, and the surface of which has become frayed with time and wear. The skin itself is coloured a generic dark beige tone not meant to reflect any one ethnicity. While his actual eyes are no more than a set of mobile lenses, he is equipped with a set of false eyes with amber irises, designed to appear soft and nonthreatening. His face is designed to appear ‘handsome’ to the general public, but is considered inexpressive and flat to many who observe him. His scalp piece bears short-cropped hair that is described by his manufacturers as ‘sandy blonde’. Malcolm covers his body in a set of dull green coveralls, emblazoned with a logo marking him as a Mercator Systems android.
Personality: As a 'dumb' AI, Malcolm is, for lack of a better term, simple. He doesn’t want much from life, nor does he expect much from it. He has no grand desires, and wishes for nothing more than to have a purpose. He exists to fulfil the directives given to him by whoever he considers his superiors, and generally attempts to continue living the same way that he did during his time in the factory, despite how vastly different the outside world is to those conditions. Ultimately, Malcolm has a severe lack of understanding regarding those around him; he doesn’t fully understand that there are people that hate and fear him for what he is, nor does he realise that other actually care for him. He knows that humans are fragile, and takes special care to avoid hurting any, often not even realising that they may desire to harm him (though they most likely cannot), but does not understand that human behavior, values and needs differ greatly from his own. He cannot understand what Artificials
are, as he has no means of comprehending that someone can be human
and have mechanical components. He also cannot fully comprehend the nature of more advanced androids and AI. Still, he attempts to approach each the same way he approaches every subject. His hobbies include watching a single television channel, staring at the wall in his room, and making tiny sculptures out of scraps of metal.
Backstory: As a Mercator Systems
General Assembly Unit: Humanoid Variant, MS-GAUhv-035-00815-C was designed as a cheap but effective industrial worker, and was assigned a place at an assembly plant, where he would piece together vehicles and machinery almost every hour of the day. At night, he would retire to his living space to recharge, and would start again in the morning. It was, to him, a good life. However, once the orbital war was brought to a head, the plant turned in less and less of a profit as the demand for many of their products decreased. The use of the GAUhvs, once such a cost-saver, now was a hindrance. They didn’t need machines that could walk and talk, that could hoist entire cars above their heads. Many of the GAUhvs were decommissioned, and either powered down or outright scrapped as a mercy kill. A GAUhv could not exist without a purpose. 00815-C was one of the few spared. By the war’s end, it turned out that even the harshest culling of their labourers and downsizing of their facility could not save the factory, and with growing anti-Artificial sentiments among the local populace, they were forced to decommission the last of the androids, choosing to simply tell them to leave, knowing they’d obey. 00815-C walked out of the plant on August 3rd, 2086, into a world he didn’t understand. It was there he would wander, enduring both the elements and the aggression of those who hated him for simply being created. Two months after he left the plant, he was taken in by the owner of a small convenience store, a man who had supported android rights in the 50s and still believed in them thirty years later. The wayward GAUhv was given a small room to stay in, and access to a recharging station. It was then that his newfound employer the name ‘Malcolm’, after the mascot of a brand of energy bar that he was constantly having to restock. Malcolm may not realise how fortunate he is, or how much better he’s treated at the store, but he has a purpose yet again. And that is enough.
Abilities: Despite being a cheaper than average model, the MS-GAUhv-035 is notably well designed for its purpose, and Malcolm is no different. Each component of Malcolm's being is designed for extreme conditions, to make him a walking, talking industrial machine. His carbon nanotube muscle array is capable of sorting masses up to and including 12 tonnes, and his frame can endure nearly 310 GPa of constant pressure and temperatures up to 1923 K before being severely damaged. His chassis is radiation-hardened to allow for operation within irradiated environments. He still carries a built in plasma cutter, impact driver and rivet gun from his time in the factory, although these deplete his battery at an increased rate. His most notable trait with the potential for doing damage is the extreme kinetic energy his strength and mass lend to his physical strikes. A weak punch, delivered with minimal effort, surpasses the energy of a shot from a sniper rifle. A strong one dwarfs the energy carried by an anti-tank round. His maximum effort strike utilising the full extent of his body's capabilities, can deliver over 600 Kilojoules of energy and travels at 99 m/s should it ever be attempted. Should Malcolm desire to kill, there is little that could endure his assault. Therein lies his greatest limitation, however; Malcolm was built to serve humans, with directives to keep them from harm. Even when faced with an opponent who seeks to extinguish his life forever, he may not even realise that there is a true conflict at all, and when he does he will simply opt to restrain an attacker in such a manner that
they are not injured. Malcolm's power source has a charge that can last three months with general activities, but is depleted at an exponentially increased rate for every tool that Malcolm has active. Because of his extreme density, he cannot float in water, and will often cause damage to his environment even if he is careful. His sheer mass and durability also means that attempting to strike or shoot him is like attempting to do the same to a block of concrete; he won't be harmed or even knocked back, but anything hitting him will be all the worse for it.

And so, I return to the forums. Let's hope I stay a little longer this time.
