Personality: A sly, clever leader, Persephone carries with her the air of a noble, a calm almost laid back lady who only wishes to protect as many as possible, and allow for a peaceful co-existence. She can be a pleasant lady to chat with, and a warm friend to speak with, but lay a hand on those under her protection, and she won't care if you are a vampire or a divine being.
Appearance: A tall woman, Persephone looks to be in her late teens, though she claims she's older than that. Her hair is long and silver, reaching down to the waist, and she's always dressed in an old dark suit with a massive purple overcoat on. Across her face runs several scars from her youth. Her eyes are a pale blue, as if she were blind, but she is clearly capable of seeing. She's never seen without a pipe in hand to smoke from.
Powers/Abilities: As she claims she is fully human, Persephone lacks any apparent supernatural powers. What she does have going for her is steel nerves, and an icy glare when her pleasant mood is ruined. When she gets annoyed, many might feel the air chill around them, though this is probably due to glaring down one of the few humans who can stare down a vampire.
Weapons/Equipment: A Desert Eagle is her trusted companion, and a knife attached to a five foot whip lets her deal with troublesome pests up close with precision. She also carries a cane with her, though she claims it's just for show and humility.
Backstory: Not much is known about Persephone, except that she rose to power in one of the last remaining human bastions on the surface. What was once Harrisburg was turned into the walled fortress called Folmaria, a final haven for those seeking asylum from the vampire menace, and a prime suspect for the base of operations of the Rebellion. Persephone herself claims no affiliation with them, and instead tries to be as friendly to the ruling bloodsuckers as possible, though not by any means submissive. One such vampire lord that made this mistake was cut down in seconds, and its body dumped into the nearest river. In this world where humans are an endangered species, Persephone has carved out a niche at the top of the world, among beings far more powerful than she is... Her peers don't see her as food, but begrudgingly as a near equal, or even an actual equal...

Name: 'Smith'

Height: 6', though he spends much of his time moving on all fours.

Age: Unknown, but appears to be around thirty.

Gender: Male

Personality: Variable, but most often behaves in an animalistic fashion, and has been compared to a mad dog. In this state, whatever vestiges of humanity he has left are lost in a haze of mindless lust for blood - both as a food source, and more importantly, for its own sake. He understands, sometimes, what he has become, and the despair these moments cause him usually fuels a primitive need to make everyone around him feel as bad as he does. At other times, he may become more lucid, fragments of the man he once was clawing their way back to the front of his mind for a few moments, before he surrenders to his new reality again. Only the overwhelming authority of his master can penetrate his shattered mind in any meaningful way: Marcel's word is his unquestioned law.

Appearance: He looks exactly like what he is: a walking dead man with nothing to try to live for. His skin is a pale, sickly gray, his eyes a dull, unnatural yellow. Apart from his long and equally yellowed fangs, his other facial features are scarcely visible, buried beneath a filthy, matted mass of dark brown hair and beard. A more unusual feature are his mishapen limbs, which render him capable of moving quickly and easily on all fours. His clothing is simple: a dark gray cloak over a sweatshit and pants of the same color, all dirty and worn. Neither he nor his master see any point in dressing him in anything better.

Powers/Abilities: As a vampire, his strength is considerable, though not to the extent of some of the others. He can lift several hundred pounds, however, and easily knock an average human around like a ragdoll. His senses are enhanced, always straining for a hint of blood, or at least anything that can serve as a target for his rage. He can move very quickly, running at speeds in excess of thirty mph, and has the agilty (aided by fingernails that have become deadly claws) to climb most surfaces with ease, as well as to leap considerable distances. For even faster transportation, he can transform into a huge and hideous bat, flapping through the night on six-foot wings, screaming for victims with a powerful echolocation ability. To his regret, in those moments where his humanity shows itself, he also has an effective healing factor, allowing him to recover quickly from wounds he wishes would kill him. He is still quite vulnerable to some of the 'standard' methods of killing a vampire, however: he has no tolerance for sunlight, forcing him to cling to the shelter of darkness at all times. Garlic and crucifixes can weaken him as well, though his rage will often force him to fight against these weapons as long as he can.

Weapons/Equipment: A pair of battered, stained daggers that he sometimes uses in combat.

Backstory: Little is known about who he was or where he came from. He was human at some point, and seems to have been a generally decent person, at least enough so that he is disgusted by the monster he has become. His current condition was brought about by a chance encounter with an unknown vampire, some years ago. The creature fed upon him, turned him, and departed; he knows no more about it. His subsequent transformation into a member of the bloodsucking leagions of the undead took a rare form, leaving him as the broken beast he is today. He wandered the countryside for an indeterminate amount of time, killing all who were unfortunate enough to cross his path, regardless of species; even a few of his fellow vampires were taken by surprise and slaughtered. An attempt to attack a travelling Marcel, however, took his fate in a new direction. The mighty vampire lord subdued him with ease, and nearly ended his suffering... but something changed his mind. He decided that a creature like this had potential uses, could serve as a dreaded attack dog to strike fear into anyone that needed scaring. Or simply kill them, whichever was convenient. And so he exerted his legendary powers of influence over the snarling brute, informing him that his life had changed. Unable to resist, the creature (known simply as Smith, for Marcel has to call him something) now spends his days locked in a pitch-black cell in the basement of Marcel's mansion, alternating between periods of nightmare-plagued hibernation, restlessly prowling the walls of his prison, or just howling in torment, always awaiting the next night when his master will turn him loose to kill once more...

Age: Appears to be 23, likely 88 by biological terms out of a maximum expected lifespan of 380

Gender: Female

Personality: Zoe is generally a no-nonsense figure, typically scowling at most other sentient beings' plights. Apathetic to the general affairs of vampirekind and humankind, she finds herself an opportunist, taking her pickings from the feast that lies before her. Thus she slithers between sides, unaligned with either the human resistance or the new Vampire status quo. This is quite unlike her ancestors, who were advantageous, but chose the common "seduce then kill" approach. She completely ignored the seduction part, deciding that it's easier to kill straightforwardly, as it's "a waste of time, self, and potential kills." She has a 'softer' side; though not particularly soft, it's a slightly more emotionally and mentally open side of her which very few get to see. Though if one performs an act of kindness to her, it will not go unnoticed.

Appearance:
--Physical: Zoe is a Black Mamba-morph Lamia. She has dark blue-ish eyes with slit pupils, a small nose, and small lips usually taut. She has straight mid-back-length pinkish-white hair which fades to black at the fringes gradiating half-way along the strand, no matter where it's cut. Her human body is slim, albeit not without its benefits; due to her Lamia genes, she's considered "relatively endowed" and with somewhat wide hips, albeit not exactly as much as her ancestors. Despite this, she chooses to ignore these so-called "alluring" advantages and move on. Her lower half, the over 30-foot-long snake body, extends down just past her hips where her thighs would be. The back of her scaly skin is jet black while the underbelly is a crème white.
--Attire: Her choice of fashion is odd to say the least, and is describable as part-military, part-pop idol, and part-punk. She wears a black beret, slightly turned to the right, and a golden hairband. She wears a simple corset top under both a gray tee-shirt a military-style jacket. She wears a pleated denim skirt around her waist with a skirt-strap attached to her left side. She also wears a bandolier across her torso.

Powers/Abilities: Zoe, like most other Lamiae, has incredible situational awareness, allowing her to fight while taking advantage of every possible corner she can cover. She also has incredible strength, much of it residing in her lower body. She, like other Lamiae, is a natural-born temptress, albeit Zoe finds using such an ability is wasteful and thus very rarely ever uses it to her advantage. Her jaw can unhinge to a certain degree and she has retractable fangs, like a vampire's, but rather than sucking blood, they inject a highly potent neurotoxic agent. She is also remarkably fast and is naturally proficient at tree climbing due to her snake-body musculature.

Weapons/Equipment: She carries outdoors gear in a knapsack on her back, including a small tent, matches, small packages of food, and extra ammunition. She carries a folding hunting rifle in the side pocket of the knapsack. She has a pistol and a switchblade stored in her pockets. She has a swiss army knife in her left breast-pocket on her jacket. Her bandolier contains special ammunition: bullets tipped with her own venom.

Backstory: Zoe Sage is a distant descendant of the Irish Lamiae, exiled from Ireland by St. Patrick long ago, hence contributing to the claim that the saint "drove all the snakes out". And like in the legends, she was driven from her home too. At age 10, she was chased out of Princeton, New Jersey, after the 1938 War Of The Worlds radio drama caused mass hysteria, which in turn was targeted toward her. She ran - slithered, really - out of state all until December, when it grew incredibly cold, which is painful for a snake or a Lamia for that matter. Weak and in need of warmth, she came across a peculiar "young" man, who took her to his country home up north at breakneck speeds and allowed her to stay the winter months, stating common interest in their shared survival. She later re-encountered this man during the earliest days of the Vampire Takeover, shooting down several beasts and humans surrounding him. They merely exchanged looks and nods. Now, she wanders across Pennsylvania, hunting for her own survival without much care for the conflict.
